“The recent cost of building competitive racing cars is becoming extremely high.  The FIA have set out new classifications for WRC and WTCC to help privateers and smaller manufacturers to race by reducing cost of competing.  This new regulation called “SUPER 2000” sets wheel standards to maximum width of 17×9.0 and minimum weight of 9kg.  Rays has specifically developed a wheel to meet these standards and are able to develop the 57Motorsport line for high-end racing use.  This wheel is the 57Motorsport G07WT.

NOB, the famed HKS driver took the new JUN EVO X out for a shake down spin at Tsukuba, no times were posted as I’m sure they weren’t trying to post a record but rather see the limitations of the car.  Check out the pics!!!

An explosion took place in Porsche’s main factory in Zuffenhausen early this morning, temporarily stopping production of the 911. It’s believed that gas leaked from a PVC oven in the paint room, causing the explosion. Two workers suffered minor injuries, there’s no word yet on the extent of damage to the vehicles. During the subsequent fire, the factory’s sprinkler system was activated, flooding portions of the factory and presumably causing more damage.

Porsche will be halting 911 production for up to three days, normal production stands at roughly 160 units per day. The Cayenne, Boxster and Cayman are unaffected. Local police are investigating the cause of the explosion, expect more details later.

I was searching for some images of a Mercedes CLK DTM and came across this blog showing the new 2010 McLaren.  Having seen one of the older ones in person, for over a $1M this is impressive.  I wonder what the price tag will be on this one!

The original McLaren F1 supercar took to the streets back in 1993, The word on the street is that McLaren is building a new, two-seater workhorse with a V8 engine, scheduled for 2010 production.

Memories of the McLaren F1 V12 abound: it went 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with top speed around 386 km/h (240 mph), It will be hard to made new F1 legend.

Any new McLaren would be in competition with the Bugatti Veyron, and potential Ferrari Enzo and Lamborghini Murcielago replacements. Hopefully, this new McLaren will have the driver-in-the-middle three-seat design the F1 is known for. WCF will of course keep watch over this story, and bring you any news on the new McLaren as it arises.

I wont even dare to think about how much this beast gonna cost, I think that the price of some decent high class car is equivalent to the price of this car insurance.
