One of our customers came to us looking for some Forgiato Stili wheels for his Porsche 997 Turbo.  Having never heard of them, I used our mutual friend Google and came across these pictures on L4P.  The wheels are definitely different then what most of us are use to with mesh and spoke designs.  The carbon fiber lips and carbon fiber centers pop compared to standard finishes.  Soon after making a couple of calls, we had the Forgiato wheels on order in 20×9 and 20×12 for the Porsche Turbo.  The custom wheels took about 3-4 weeks to make and be delivered.  We equipped the 3pc wheels with the Pirelli PZero Nero 245/30/20 and 325/25/20 tires and new Porsche OEM TPMS sensors.  Once installed on the car, it definitely change the look of the white Porsche.  This style might not be for everyone, but the stray from the norm has us going “CHA CHING!”

Streetability, high performance, racing inspired, and proven testing are all words to describe the VR825 power package for the 2007 to 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo. Just wanted to say nice work to our customer Tim who rocked the dragstrip with his 997 Turbo Tiptronic.  His mods are a Softronic ECU Flash, Ceramic Coated Headers, and Fabspeed Bypass Pipes.  This was his first time out with the car since it was flashed.  The tiptronic allowed him to rocket to a 11.16sec in the 1/4mile with a trap of 123mph.  Just shows how quick a tip is.

Adding bolt-on horsepower to the 997 Turbo is a continuous quest by many enthusiasts looking for more power.  Reverting back to old tuning technologies, Agency Power has developed a larger throttle body and plenum kit for the Porsche 997 Turbo to gain added performance.  The point of a larger throttle body is to get in more air. The more air you bring in, the more power you make.  The 997 Turbo’s engine intake system works off pulses, so how that air is diverted to either side of the engine is not as important as the volume incoming.  The plenum kit includes an OEM Porsche Cayenne Turbo throttle body (part# 94860511503) which is a direct bolt on and plug in for the electronic throttle control with no modifications needed.  This throttle body has a 77.64mm inner diameter compared to the stock one of 75.64mm.  We chose to go with this smaller diameter throttle body to give the car more low end horsepower and torque.  If the diameter of the throttle body is to big, it will increase turbo lag and performance gains will only be made at the mid to top end RPM range.  Since most 997 Turbo users drive their car on the street and track, we developed this product to substantially increase throttle response and improve “usable” power.

The Agency Power plenum kit is made using high quality 6061 aluminum that has been TIG welded and pressure tested in a T shape to mimic the OEM design.  The CNC machined 4 bolt throttle body flange features a groove to accompany a rubber o-ring to ensure a secure and sealed fit with the OEM Porsche Cayenne throttle body.  The T plenum features the necessary fittings for stock vacuum hoses and breather lines and includes a 1 way check valve needed.  Each T plenum is powder coated gloss black for an OEM look and includes new silicone couplers in black and worm clamps to secure it to the factory intake manifolds.  The installation of the plenum requires removal of the factory airbox and Y pipe to access the component.  Recommended installation time is approximately 3 hours.

Installation of the Agency Power plenum kit DOES NOT require the ECU to be flashed.  The factory ECU will adjust accordingly to the change in throttle body diameter.  However, corresponding mods including an ECU flash will only bring out additional power.  As it stands alone, the plenum kit will add a bolt on 20 wheel horsepower to your Porsche 997 Turbo.  As tested on a VR700 kit, the plenum added nearly 45 horsepower and 60 ft/lbs of torque.  This product features the Agency Power 90 day warranty and is Made in the USA.

The Texas Mile is one of the ultimate tests of a vehicles power, aerodynamics, and the skill of the driver.  With all types of vehicles ranging from stock Camaro’s and Shelby Mustang’s to 1000+ horsepower Viper’s and Corvette’s, standing mile speeds range from 150mph to 200+mph.  Vivid Racing of Gilbert, Arizona attended the highly anticipated event with their VR800 Porsche 997 Turbo October 16 and 17 after a 20 hour drive to Goliad County Industrial Airport.  The flat blue wrapped 997 Turbo was equipped with a full Vorsteiner VRT Aero Kit featuring carbon fiber ducts, diffuser, and front lip spoiler.  With HRE P40 Monoblock 19 inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires and JIC Cross suspension, the platform was set to deliver power from 0-200mph.  The VR800 kit which was developed in house after months of testing on the street, dyno, and racetrack by Vivid Racing, uses Agency Power products consisting of GT3076rs turbochargers and Tial 44mm external wastegates.  In combination with a larger Agency Power throttle body plenum kit, 3 inch Ypipe, high flow intercoolers, straight pipes, and custom ECU tuning by Softronic, the VR800 Porsche 997 Turbo was able to put some impressive numbers at the Texas Mile.  As the fastest 997 Turbo at the 2009 event, the VR800 ran the standing mile in 196mph.  With a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a 60-130 time of 6.33 seconds, the Porsche was well respected by enthusiasts, competitors, and spectators alike.
