Agency Power Porsche 996 Turbo Diverter Valves Released

Publishsed by Dan on August 26th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

One of the most important upgrades for the Porsche 996 Turbo is to replace the factory Bosch diverter valves. The factory valves are prone to leaking pressure under increased boost when the car has an upgraded ECU flash. As well, the factory Bosch valves will taper boost off with the diaphragm design even at stock boost levels. To help keep the boost pressure constant all the way to redline, upgrading the stock diverter valves to the Agency Power Racing Diverter Valve Kit will improve your cars overall performance.

These valves are CNC machined 6061 aluminum which have been precision engineered to fit with the stock or aftermarket F-Hose and intake return hoses. The internal construction of the valve uses a machined piston with proper o-rings to ensure a smooth motion that is air tight to prevent any boost leaks. The spring has been engineered to hold moderate to aggressive boost increases on the 996TT vehicles. The valves feature a 90 degree removable swivel connection for easy fitting with the factory vacuum hose. If needed, the top of the valve unscrews allowing you to re-greased and service the valve. Valves are available in a polished finish and feature the Agency Power text and logo laser engraved on the top. As tested, these valves are a great upgrade for stock K16 or K24 cars and have even been used in our 700HP turbo kits. Valves are sold as a pair for the 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo.

New Stainless Steel Exhaust for the 2008 Subaru WRX Sedan

Publishsed by Dan on August 25th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

Agency Power has developed one of the best sounding and performing exhaust systems for the 2008 and up Subaru WRX Sedan. The new exhaust features an all T304 stainless steel piping in 2.5inch diameter from the catback. The piping is all hand polished featuring robotic TIG welding. The midpipe includes a resonator to assist in keeping that traditional boxxer engine sound with an exotic race tone touch that does not drone in the cabin. The ½ inch thick flanges offer a secure fit along with the factory placement exhaust hangers. The catback exhaust uses a high flow Y-Pipe to efficiently direct exhaust to the dual exhaust canisters. The Y-pipe features a merged collector and 2.5 inch piping on each extension to give your exhaust a combined 5 inches of exhaust flow. The straight through mufflers are designed to optimize horsepower with very little restriction. The mufflers do feature removable exhaust silencers for those wanting the ability to keep the system very quiet during daily use. The catback exhaust features dual 4 inch single straight exit Stainless Steel Tips with the Agency Power logo.

As tested on a Mustang all wheel drive dyno, the Agency Power catback exhaust made an impressive 17 all wheel horsepower and 28ft/lbs of torque. The exhausts are available for all 2008 and up Subaru WRX Sedans.

Dyno Test of Softronic ECU Flash on a Porsche 997 C4S

Publishsed by Dan on August 20th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

Vivid Racing recently had the opportunity to work on this 2006 Porsche 997 C4S. The car is a great machine in its stock state. The 3.8L engine pulls well but even with the Sport Button it could use some more POWA!!!

So we added the Agency Power Exhaust System to the car.  The exhaust is all stainless steel and TIG welded.  It is designed to give maximum performance and minimal drone on cruising speeds.  The exhaust is all polished to a mirror look.  When installing this exhaust, you can retain the factory tips and use the stock or aftermarket headers.  The exhaust system helps reduce back pressure to the point of gaining mid to top end power.  You will notice right away the car pulling harder from mid RPM till the top.

Now to help out the cars overall performance, we upgraded the ECU with the Softronic ECU Flash.  As one of the main resellers for Softronic, we always jump on the opportunity to have a car inhouse to prove the capabilities on our Mustang All Wheel Drive dyno.  The ECU flash is a very simple process that takes about 15 minutes to do the ECU read and then about 20-30 minutes to load the new file.  The best part about Softronic is the ability to retain the stock map if you ever need to flash back to it.  Vivid Racing has a very indepth instruction manual on how to Flash the car HERE.

The baseline test of our car with the exhaust shows the Porsche 997 C4S making 280awhp and 230ft/lbs of torque.  With the car in sport mode, we made 290awhp and 244ft/lbs of torque.  Without sport mode the car made 293awhp and 243ft/lbs of torque.  The car will always make more torque and low end horsepower as the dyno graph shows because of how the sport feature works.  It gives much faster throttle response and immediate power.  With outside air temperatures at around 110F degrees and the dyno room temperatures at 105F degrees average, it is hard to really get a strong run.  If the air temperature was around 70F degrees, this car would pick up another 10HP guaranteed.  The Mustang Dyno does read much lower then others such as a DynoJet and a DynaPak.  Those generally add on 40HP more.  But with a 20-25% drivetrain loss that is expected on the Mustang Dyno, these numbers are pretty good.  Overall the Softronic ECU flash on the Porsche 3.8L made 13 peak all wheel horsepower and 13ft/lbs of torque.

Agency Power 2008 Subaru WRX STI Sway Bars Released

Publishsed by Dan on August 14th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

All wheel drive cars are one of the best handling vehicles on and off the track. However it is normal for these cars to still have some under steer and not have a balanced chassis when entering and exiting corners. To improve upon the suspension system, Agency Power has developed these adjustable sway bars for the 2008+ GH and GE chassis Subaru WRX and STI. The sway bars are all made in the USA and feature new urethane bushings and brackets for the installation. The sway bars work with the OEM sway bar links or our Agency Power aftermarket sway bar link kits. The solid sway bars feature a machined end with adjustability holes to give your car the best under and over steer combinations it needs. Each sway bar is powder coated in a white finish.

The front sway bar is available for either the Subaru WRX or Subaru STI. This sway bar is slightly different for each model. The sway bar is 2 way adjustable in a 22mm diameter. Using a bigger front sway bar allows the front end to be tightened up and stay flat around the turns. You can also induce more or less under steer with this sway bar.

The rear sway bar fits both the Subaru WRX and STI. It features a 3 way adjustable position in a 22mm diameter. Rear sway bars are extremely valuable on an AWD car as you are able to get more over steer to bring the rear of the car around like a rear wheel drive vehicle.

Agency Power highly recommends front and rear sway bars to give your suspension the best setup possible to improve handling. Each sway bar compliments itself and works injunction with a great coilover system.

You can view all pictures and buy now the Agency Power Sway Bars for the 2008 Subaru WRX and STI here.
