Agency Power Releases GT-R Twin Blow Off Valve Kit

Publishsed by Dan on March 19th, 2009 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

One important facet on turbo charged vehicles is the factory blow off valve also known as the recirculation valve. Because the Nissan GT-R features a twin turbo setup, there is 1 blow off valve on each intercooler pipe. With stock recirc valves, they relieve the pressure from the intercooler pipe back into the intake pipe which then goes into the turbo causing turbulence. This slows down the turbo spool up between shifts. However running an aftermarket blow off valve at a 100% atmosphere can cause MAF issues because there is no air being metered back. For modified cars running higher boost pressure, factory recirc valves can also leak boost from the OEM design at higher RPMs.

Agency Power’s blow off valves have been proven successful on many other vehicle applications with each holding up to 30psi of boost. With its adjustability knob on top to dial in your spring tension, the CNC machined 6061 aluminum component can be setup to run either 100% atmosphere or 50/50 for best performance. With the 50/50 setup, the blow off valves will still dump air back into the intake, but most will vent to atmosphere giving you that swoosh sound and keeping the turbos spooled between shifts. The anodized body with laser engraved Agency Power name includes a bolt on flange to mount the blow off valve on the stock or aftermarket intercooler piping. These kits are sold as a pair and come in black, blue, red, or silver. They fit all 2009 and up Nissan GT-Rs.

Agency Power Porsche 996 Turbo Diverter Valves Released

Publishsed by Dan on August 26th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

One of the most important upgrades for the Porsche 996 Turbo is to replace the factory Bosch diverter valves. The factory valves are prone to leaking pressure under increased boost when the car has an upgraded ECU flash. As well, the factory Bosch valves will taper boost off with the diaphragm design even at stock boost levels. To help keep the boost pressure constant all the way to redline, upgrading the stock diverter valves to the Agency Power Racing Diverter Valve Kit will improve your cars overall performance.

These valves are CNC machined 6061 aluminum which have been precision engineered to fit with the stock or aftermarket F-Hose and intake return hoses. The internal construction of the valve uses a machined piston with proper o-rings to ensure a smooth motion that is air tight to prevent any boost leaks. The spring has been engineered to hold moderate to aggressive boost increases on the 996TT vehicles. The valves feature a 90 degree removable swivel connection for easy fitting with the factory vacuum hose. If needed, the top of the valve unscrews allowing you to re-greased and service the valve. Valves are available in a polished finish and feature the Agency Power text and logo laser engraved on the top. As tested, these valves are a great upgrade for stock K16 or K24 cars and have even been used in our 700HP turbo kits. Valves are sold as a pair for the 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo.

2008 Subaru STI Tested with AP Cold Air Intake and BOV

Publishsed by Dan on May 15th, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | 1 Comment »

Vivid Racing got the opportunity to test the new Agency Power Cold Air Intake and Blow Off Valve on the new 2008 Subaru STI.  The intake has already been tested on the new 2008 WRX, with power results show great gains.  The STI features a stronger engine and platform so we wanted to see what the results would yield.  This STI was completely unmodified.  The Blow Off Valve was set to vent 100% atmosphere.  The cold air intake was installed after the baseline dyno test was done showing 242HP and 257ft/lbs of torque to the wheels.  The after result showed a peak horsepower gain of close to 40whp at 5300rpm and a gain of 22whp at 6500rpm.  The torque peak was the same at stock, however after 4500rpm the torque stayed consistantly at an increase of around 20ft/lbs.

This intake is available as a short ram or cold air intake and includes a high flow K&N cone air filter, matching wrinkle red intake tube, AP silicone coupler, and aluminum heat shield.  You can purchase this intake and other parts for your Subaru WRX or STI on our Performance Parts Store Here.
