Vivid Racing’s HRE Gallery is expanding and our latest addition is the BMW collection.  Fitments available for M3, M5, M6, and 7 series from HRE include their 3-piece and monoblock wheels.  Since the M5 and M6 is more of a luxury fashion wheel, custom colorways with paint matched lips and more can be done to stand out.  Monoblocks are available in the 19 and 20″ fitments where the 3-piece can be done up to 22 inch to fit the big body BMW’s.  Check out all our HRE Wheel pictures and prices at www.vividracing.com/hrewheels

Agency Power in conjunction with Vivid Racing are working on some new performance products for the new E92 BMW M3. Earlier, we hand built the first prototype exhaust system. We have no received the first article for the car which fit and sounded great. The all polished stainless steel exhaust features twin mufflers and quad titanium tips. The exhaust will also have available center race pipes.

The next part we are working on is a cold air intake kit to work with the OEM intake box. This piece will include a carbon fiber elbow with a CNC machined aluminum connector to a large K&N cone filter. The carbon fiber piece will have a CNC machined flange for the OEM breather hose. This replaces the stock corregated unit with a smoother internal piece for improved air flow and throttle response.

The last part we prototyped was a underdrive pulley set for the E92 M3. However this kit only works on the early production models to August 2008. After that, there was a significant change in the belt design and crank pulley. This part may or may not be released.

Well we wanted to see how these DICE iPod interfaces worked so we installed one in our Project Audi A3 and one in my personal Porsche Cayenne S.  The installation is very direct.  There is just alot of time in taking apart components.  First for the Cayenne we had to pull out the right rear panel to access the back of the factory CD Changer to connect a wire.  The head unit was simple to pop off the trim plate and then take out the head unit.  Once we installed the module in the back and added the infrared cable needed for the 2004 model, we had to run the actual iPod connecting wire which is what your iPod plugs into.  We wanted to run it to the center console glove box so we pulled the console all out.  The entire process is about a 3 hour job if you DIY or a shop can do it in about 1 - 2 hours.

Vivid Racing arrived into Las Vegas on Sunday November 3 to start setting up our 2 vehicles at the 2008 SEMA show.  If you have not heard, our wild EVO X will be debuting in the Toyo Tires booth while our GT-R will be shown off with the Capital Forged group in the North Hall.  Together with our GT-R, Capital Forged has this awesome Mercedes CLK 63 owned by Tattoo Artist Mr. Cartoon, hot yellow Gallardo, VIP Lexus, and this gorgeous white Murcielago.

While checking in for our Feature vehicle, we took some pictures of some of the great SEMA cars to be displayed.  This blue 996TT was a car we worked on about 4 years ago where the owner was developing an inside cabin ride height control option for his racing suspension.  Looks like its done!  We also spotted this awesome red Cayman, clean E92 M3, monster 2009 Dodge Ram, and some other cool cars and trucks.  We also had a little time to do a quick photoshoot for Max Power magazine.

One of our customers brought us over his BMW M3 sedan that he just monsterized for the street.  The car was originally an automatic which he had converted into a 5speed manual.  He then added the Active Autowerkes Turbo Kit to the E36 M3 motor and then added a simple exhaust.  The car runs off the reflashed ECU and puts down a serious punch.  The car made over 300 ft/lbs of torque and 295 rear wheel horsepower on our Mustang “Heartbreaker” dyno!  That is serious power.  An Active Autowerkes E46 M3 supercharged makes about 340 rwhp…  A supercharged 996 Carrera makes 330 rwhp…  A stock Porsche 996TT makes 340 awhp…  Be afraid of this M3!!!
