Stage 1 is setup to create 6psi manifold pressure at peak boost. VF engineers tested and found 6psi to be the optimal induction charge limit without aftercooling. Looking at the dyno results, despite max torque gains of about 50 ftlbs, there are peak torque gains of 70-80 ftlbs! The “delta” gains are more significant than max power gains.
