Honda Civic Si on the Track with Help from Vivid Racing

Publishsed by Cole Kelly on October 22nd, 2009 | Posted in Client Cars | No Comments »

A customer of ours sent in photos of his 2008 Honda Civic SI with a variety of mods. Under the hood you will find an Injen Cold Air Intake, Skunk2 Mega Power R 70mm Exhaust, Strup Race Header, Strup Angled Defouler and tunned with a Cobb AcessPort.

One of the most over looked and most beneficial aspects of preparing a car are the brakes, wheels and tires. This customer has it all figured out with Hawk Pads, Rotora Slotted and Cross Drilled Rotors and Konig Daylite 17″ wheels wrapped in a 225/45/17 Yokohama’s S Drive rubber. Now power is to the ground and able to be stopped properly. The last step in a build is appearance. A HFP front lip for style and performance finished off with factory tint to keep you cool in the Arizona heat.

2010 Nissan GTR Gets Equipped at Vivid Racing

Publishsed by Dan on August 10th, 2009 | Posted in Client Cars | No Comments »

One of our customers came by with his 2010 Nissan GTR for us to equip out to get more horsepower out of it.  Wanting to not have severe drone in the car but gain some power, the exhaust is always a great first option.  We went with the 5Zigen Inconel Exhaust system as it features titanium tips and one of the strongest and lightest metals available.  The exhaust saves 17.4lbs off the rear end of the car over the stock unit.    The main pipe is 80mm and then splits to a 60.5mm piping before it reaches the quad 100mm tips.  With the exhaust, power can further be maximized with the Cobb Accessport.  The 2010 maps are still in Beta testing as we found out on Nagtroc.org.  So we gave it a go and uploaded the files.  The car definitely hit and pulled hard.  The car ran a 11.7 in 95F heat.  Check out all our GTR Performance Products Here.

2008 STI Build Up with Agency Power, COBB, and Cusco

Publishsed by Dan on January 8th, 2009 | Posted in Tuning & Tech | No Comments »

The 2008 STI is one of my favorite body styles.  The wagon shape has an aggressive stance and they really uped the interior from the original 2002 WRX that I owned.  There are many differences with the car as far as the power mods go with tuning compared to the earlier model.  However the basic engine is the same as the 2007 with some minor changes like the MAF sensor.  When we first started working on our Project 2008 WRX back in 2007, we were able to really start building some quality products through Agency Power.

One of our long time friends and customers recently picked up this silver 2008 Subaru STI and we began modding it for him.  Some of the initial build parts were done to improve the suspension.  This car was purchased to assault the mountain roads on a snowboard trip.  First we upgraded the shocks with the Cusco Zero2E Coilovers.  To keep the chassis handling well, we added our Agency Power Front and Rear Adjustable Sway Bars.  Then to give it that one more step of awesomeness, we put on the beefy Agency Power Rear Adjustable Control Arms.  Finally, since we are adding some of the Agency Power StrideSeven Wheels in 18×8.5 on the car, we had the calipers painted from black to Silver and added the STI logo.

Now that the handling was dialed, it was time to beef up the power in the car.  The first step was do to the modifications in stages which we could analyze the performance.  Our first stage was to do the Agency Power Cold Air Intake and the COBB AccessPort Flash.  Once we tested this setup, we then added the Agency Power Blow Off Valve and Agency Power Catback Exhaust.  The BOV is designed the same way the 2007 STI was and works either in 50/50 or 100% mode.  We opted to keep it at a 50/50 setup.  The catback exhaust is all 3inch stainless steel and features titanium tips.  The catback alone added about 10 horsepower.  Our final stage to upgrade the power was to add the catless downpipe to make it a complete turboback exhaust system.  The downpipe would help the exhaust flow much better making the total horsepower gain from the exhaust 20 horsepower.  With the bellmouth downpipe, there is not restriction in how the exhaust gas flows.  In addition, we prototyped a new Front Mount Intercooler which keeps the stock fog lights and water bottle resevoir and minimizes cutting.  Once this was bolted on, the entire car was retuned with the COBB Accessport for some impressive numbers.  In the end, the car put down 296 awhp and 313ft/lbs of torque on our Mustang Dyno.  Quite impressive while still on the stock turbo.  Compare this to our 2007 Project STI with similar mods.

New Redesigned AP Subaru WRX High Flow Fuel Rail Released

Publishsed by Dan on April 23rd, 2008 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »

Check out the new Agency Power Subaru WRX High Flow Fuel Rail Kit Here.

The biggest problem in increasing horsepower on the factory Subaru Boxxer engine is the fuel delivery. The factory system runs the fuel in series which tends to cause certain cylinders to obtain less fuel. In higher boost applications, these cylinders can lean out dangerously causing the motor to fail.

The Agency Power Subaru WRX 02+ STI 07 Fuel Rail kit has been redesigned for 2008. The new fuel rail system features -6 lines which is nylon coated in either red or blue. The lines feature AN fittings for a secure fit guarantying you will never have any leak issues. The new distribution block is mounted to the pitch stop mount under the top mount intercooler or front mount intercooler piping. Equal length line runs to each fuel rail to ensure proper fuel distribution for even the most powerful cars on the road. The new rail design features a 2 piece system that bolts in place of your factory unit. The rails seat securely on the injectors with the proper angle for the best and most precise spray pattern. The factory fuel pressure regular then is bolted to the distribution block where the return line runs to the fuel filter. Each distribution block features a 1/8 inch NPT brass fitting to run an external fuel pressure gauge.

All 3 pieces are precision machined CNC 6061 aluminum. They have then been sand blasted and anodized in either red or blue for a smooth show finish. Each distribution block features the AP logo laser engraved. All fuel rail kits include the hardware and bracket for safe mounting. The Agency Power Fuel Rail Kit works with all 2002 and up 2.0L Subaru WRX and Subaru STI 2007 motors only. Top feed injectors work only for this kit like the factory setup.
