One of Vivid Racing’s customers took our advice to try the JIC Cross suspension for his new BMW 135I.  Having used the Cross coilovers on many of our Project Porsche cars, our success with them on our latest Project BMW has been the same.  We shipped Brian a set of the coilovers which feature 16 way adjustable dampening, front camber plates, rear pillowball mounts, and adjustable ride height to install.  He also got the H&R front adjustable sway bar and a JIC Cross aluminum front strut bar to install.  Check out all the pictures from his installation here – http://www.vividracing.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=424

You can read his review on the product and handling on the 1Addicts BMW Forum Here.

JIC Cross Coilovers Installed on a 997 Turbo

Publishsed by Dan on February 10th, 2009 | Posted in Client Cars, Random World | No Comments »

The JIC Cross coilovers are the best for the Porsche 911 cars.  Having used them on our Porsche 996, 996TT, and now 997TT, our experience with them on the street and track can help in providing advice to setup your car.  Recently one of our customer took our advice and switched from the Bilstein PSS10 to go with the JIC Cross which would give him the performance he needs on the track.  The coilovers feature a front camber plate setup and rear pillowball mounts.  Each shock is 16 way adjustable for dampening allowing the driver to dial in how the car will handle.  In addition to the JIC Cross coilovers, our customer has also outfitted his car with the HRE P40 Monoblock wheels, GMG Sway Bars, and more bits with many more to come.  Check out his complete Vivid Racing Gallery of pictures here – http://www.vividracing.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=341

Dialed For Speed and Handling – Mexico Porsche 996 GT2

Publishsed by Dan on December 22nd, 2008 | Posted in Client Cars, Random World | Comments Off

All the way from South of the border, this customer of ours has one mean Porsche 996 GT2.  These photos were sent to us by the customer and are pretty amazing in themselves.  The 996 GT2 features a Stage 3 package to up the horsepower and torque and then a suspension package to greatly improve the handling.  First, to increase performance, the GT2 was flashed with Softronic software.  This ups the boost and alters the fuel and timing.  To get the turbos moving that exhaust gas, the customer added a Fabspeed Muffler Bypass Pipe kit with Fabspeed High Flow Cats.  To assist in increasing the turbo spool up, a set of Agency Power Headers were added.  Under the decklid an Agency Power Cold Air Intake improves throttle response and creates a different engine note.  To keep the boost consistant, Agency Power Diverter Valves with Silicone F-Hose were installed in replace the factory units.  To ensure the cooling was up to par on the race track, this customer added a set of the Agency Power Intercoolers and matching Boost Hoses.  With the GT2 already being a lightweight and very quick car, this boosts the car up another 100 horsepower.

Under the chassis is a complete suspension upgrade.  First we upgraded the shocks and springs with the JIC Cross Coilovers.  The coilovers feature 16 way adjustable dampers and monotube shocks with helper springs.  The 9/12kg spring rates are excellent on the track and will perform well on the street.  To help balance the chassis and dial in the under and over steer that will occur with the RWD GT2, we retained the factory GT2 sway bars but added the Agency Power Rear Adjustable Control Arms.  The arms, also called dogbones, use spherical rod ends instead of the factory rubber bushings.  These give alot more adjustability in toe and camber.  As well as improving the rigidity of the car.  The front and rear sway bar links were upgraded with the Agency Power units.  The front relocates the drop link to the pinch bolt on the wheel carrier to NEVER fail no matter what adjustment hole is used.

Lastly, with a rigid suspension and a powerful car, you need to connect it to the ground.  The GT2 upgraded to the Advan RS 19″ wheels.  The front is a 19×8.5 and the rear is a 19×11.  These 1 piece wheels are very popular on Japanese tuner cars.  Weighing about 19lbs in the front and 22lbs in the rear, they are perfect for all types of use.  To keep the traction, Toyo R888 racing tires were wrapped on the Advans.  The fronts are a 235/35/19 and the rear is a 305/30/19.  The R888 tire is a DOT approved competition tire with a “V” tread pattern.  Optimum operating temperature is around 200F.  The R888 was designed to generate more cornering force with less heat degradation.  With the continuous center contact, braking performance is increased.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and story.  You can view all our Porsche Performance Products Here.
