Toyota/Subaru FT-86 Coupe Spied at Nurburgring Testing

Publishsed by Dan on October 13th, 2009 | Posted in Random World | No Comments »

Speedlux just spied the 2011 Subaru coupe on the Nurburgring. The Subie version of the Toyota FT-86 is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder RWD sports coupe. The 2011 Subaru Coupe is the cooperation between Toyota Motor Company and Subaru, and as such will wear a common chassis and some degree of engine commonality, at the least a 2.0 liter, four cylinder boxer engine dubbed the “C-45 Boxer” and making between 200 and 250 HP will power the rear wheels through a manual six speed transmission.

Perhaps most telling are the car’s overall dimensions. At 163.7 inches long, 69.3 inches, a wheelbase of 101.2 inches, and 49.6 inches high, it’s thankfully compact, smaller in length, width and height than the Nissan 370Z, and slightly longer in wheelbase.  Original Source Jalopnik.

A Subaru We Can All Appreciate

Publishsed by Cole Kelly on October 7th, 2009 | Posted in Client Cars | No Comments »

A recent send in has us nodding with approval. This orange Subaru STi has a massive list of performance parts from manufactures such as Megan Racing, HKS, Invidia, Walbro, TurboXS and more.

The first thing you notice is the tasteful set of wheels from Rota tucked nicely with Tein springs. The 18″ Grid wheels with an orange stripe tie the wheels to the car. Under the hood you will find Megan Racing’s down pipe and HKS up pipe. The exhaust is finished off with Invidia’s N1 Catless exhaust. Now typically, these exhaust mods would go to waste, but Christian has added a top mount intercooler, Walbro 255 fuel pump and finished off with a Stage 2 Protune at 18PSI.

All these parts and more can be found right here at Vivid Racing.

Once Again Japan is Cooler. 2010 Subaru STI Spec C!

Publishsed by Dan on October 1st, 2009 | Posted in Random World | No Comments »

Subaru’s WRX STI spec C hits the streets…but only in Japan.   The spec C model is lighter and has a few engine enhancements to separate it from regular STIs. The ECU has been retuned and the turbocharger has new ball and axle bearings. Oil flow volume to the power steering system is up, lending the spec C a firmer steering feel, according to Subaru. The rear LSD has been changed to a mechanical type to enhance cornering.

Front and rear suspensions have been tweaked and Subaru says body rigidity is improved, too. Plenty of measures have been taken to reduce weight, starting with an aluminum hood. A smaller battery, laminar windows, and a flat tire repair kit replacing the spare tire help reduce weight an unspecified amount.

The 18-inch wheels are standard, but 17-inchers are available. Regardless of which wheels you choose, only 900 are available. Sunrise Yellow and Pure White are exclusive to this model, though you can also get it in blue. Gold-colored Brembo brake calipers are part of the package.

For those in the USA that can’t get a Spec C, I guess you will have to beef up your STI from our Performance Subaru Parts Store.

Publishsed by Dan on August 7th, 2009 | Posted in Product Info | No Comments »
Today’s sophisticated tuners want it all, and GReddy’s SE exhaust systems deliver the full spectrum of features desired in a street performance system. SE exhausts increase flow via tuned piping and larger, free-flowing mufflers for improved power, but provide discreet sound levels that won’t attract the wrong kind of attention.

The exhaust note is comfortable and sporty, not loud. Each application is tested and tuned for USA spec. vehicles, so fitment and sound is confirmed. All SE Exhaust are test to be well below the 95dBA standard.

Our new smaller Spectrum exhaust tip(s) help disguise the system from the rear of the vehicle, but reveal show-quality appearance from the side and underneath.

Whether you are cruising down the road or at wide-open throttle down the track, the Spectrum Elite is ready. Refined sound. Hard-hitting power. Superb looks. Excellent fitment. GReddy quality – a true sports exhaust features 70mm, sideways muffler, 4x 102mm tips.
