Are you a nonbeliever of aftermarket air intakes and think that what Porsche created for the 996 Turbo is truly the best? Well, Agency Power has developed the ultimate air intake system for the new age Porsche 996 Turbo owner. We introduce the Agency Power Dual Flow Carbon Air Intake Kit for the Porsche 996TT. The intake will fit on the standard 996TT and X50 rear deck lids. Others such as the GT2 deck lid may require modifications.
This air intake uses the factory OEM back half of the intake box which includes the fault free OEM MAF tube. What we have done is beefed up the front cover with a full carbon fiber unit which is designed to intake more air volume which is then traversed over the flat panel air filter. The biggest improvement of this box is the dual snorkel. We have built a carbon fiber intake scoop which mounts on the bottom of the left side of the engine deck lid. This scoop takes the airflow from the vented deck lid and pushes it through the snorkel piece and down into the stock air box. The purpose of this design is to increase air flow to the factory filter.
In high speed or racing conditions, the intake needs to be able to get as much air as possible to keep these turbos working efficient. This dual snorkel unit combined with our updated OEM box cover and a K&N flat panel air filter does wonders for your overall vehicle performance. These made in the USA (Arizona) carbon fiber parts are a work of art. They are clear coated and have a great finish. Included with the intake are the aluminum Agency Power badge and foam strips for a precise air tight seal from the snorkel to the box. The intake kit does not include the aftermarket drop in filter. Any of the OEM replacement filters will work with this box. *Note: The 2nd carbon intake snorkel works with the OEM and Agency Power silicone boost hoses. The Samco boost hose kit does have clearance issues.

| "The idea of the dual snorkel is a good one and I can tell after installiing that the car makes more power. Able to hold lower gears longer without the car feeling like it needs to be shifted up. Nice sound of air rushing in and I can once again hear my diverter valves letting off steam.
The product - Overall good looking product, not the quality of carbon fiber thqat you would receive from MA Carbon - looks rather unfinished in comparison.
Snorkel mounting holes do not line up completely to the mounting holes on the decklid and are larger than they should be to avod almost needed washers - all of which made installing somewhat interesting.
Carbon box for intake almost sits flush - there is a very, very slight curveature on the back half of the OE box, outcome is itss about 97% in terms of fitment. The holes that are drilled into the carbon box are not big enough for the stock airbox screws and there is not much room for a mistake as redrilling is required - the holes are right on the edge of the carbon fiber.
There are no "Feet" on the carbon box which leaves the intake sitting on the metal bar inside the engine bay, where as the stock unit sat with two feet inserted into rubber grommets. PErhaps - I need to sintall some type of feet on the unit or insert a sheet of rubber under the unit?
The hanger that is used to bolt the unit down to the car does not allow the use of the rubber grommet, which means vibration is likely. The very small and thin hangar is also difficult to get a "tight" install - perhaps I need some washers?
Then for the test fit: There is no rubber or padding included to sit betweeen the snorkel and the carbon box. If you are not carefull, your first test close will result in possibly cracking the top of the carbon box. Perhaps I need some adhesive backed rubber padding from home depot?
Overall - good idea for a product - feels like the unit is still in the developmental stages." |

| "I recently installed the Agency Power Dual Flow Carbon intake along with a Stage 2 system from vivid. Recieved the product in just a couple days very well packaged and no broken pieces. It was a little harder to install than they imply on the site but nothing that someone that has time to just think it through can not handle. The one down side to the box is the bracket. It is a little more flimsy than I have been accustom to when it comes to brackets. No worries though. It works with minimal flex. Looks very good in the back of the car." |
