AMS VSR Intake Manifold Mitsubishi EVO VIII IX 03-07

The AMS VSR intake manifold (patent pending) was developed from extensive engineering, R&D and dyno testing. A large capacity oval plenum acts as a pressure reservoir for each cylinder to draw air at high airflow rates. This allows for better air distribution and airflow compared to the stock intake manifold.

The plenum base has large radius air horns to direct as much air as possible into the runners. This Velocity Stack Runner design has been optimized and tested on the dynamometer to give maximum results. The plenum base and head flange are beautifully CNC machined for a perfect fit. Each intake manifold is assembled, welded and pressure tested to over 40psi in a jig. High stress points are stitch welded from the inside to increase burst strength.

The AMS VSR intake manifold is a must for any evo with an aftermarket turbo, allowing for strong clean pulls to 9500+ rpm on race engines. Gains depend on state of tune and engine specifications. Expect from 10-60whp on stock turbo to full race setups.

Everything is included in the intake kit for a hassle free installation. Gaskets, bolts, vacuum fittings, and even a new custom dip-stick tube is provided.

Please indicate when ordering what Size Throttle body you would like to run. BBK 75MM (small or large) or stock.

AMS recommends any car looking to run less than 650 Whp should use either the stock Throttle body or a ported stock throttle body. This will ensure your stock Idle Air control motor to remain functional and drastically improve daily Driveability.

Things To Know When Having an AMS Intake Manifold Installed.
- Due to the different placement of the AMS VSR Manifold compared to the stock manifold some slight Upper Intercooler pipe alterations must be made.
- You will need to replace both the intake manifold gasket and the throttle body gasket (included).
- The vacuum lines will have to be rerouted.
- After the manifold is installed verify that the throttle plate opens 100%. If it not then adjust the slide where the throttle cable bolts to the manifold.
- If you do not have a standalone and remove the EGR a CEL light may occur.
- If your car requires you to retain the stock MAP sensor you will need to purchase an AMS MAP sensor adapter
- If you are using a standalone unit you can remove the EGR, Fuel Pressure Solenoid, Evap hoses and Evap solenoids.
