Absolutely LOVE this hood! It looks great and FUNCTIONS very well. It provides fresh air directed right over the intake on my single turbo and all the vents really work at extracting heat from the engine bay! I had absolutely no problems with mounting and fitment was OEM quality. Even with a single large turbo and strut tower brace, there is no clearence issues with the under side of it. I bought hood pins for it but never found it necessary to install them. The latches are mounted within the fiberglass/FRP layers and are strong. After being on the car for 1 year, at speeds up to 160 M.P.H., there has been no cracks or signs of failure or stress in the latch area.
The only issue I had was the length of time it took to receive it. I had to wait 6 months for it to get here. The staff of Vivid Racing were always nice when they received my monthly call to check on where it was and when it might show up on my door step. I received mine in 2009, so maybe that has changed? I hope so as I intend to buy another one for my other Supra as well. If it wasn't a good product, I wouldn't be buying another one!
I highly recommend this hood. It is an excellent quality construction, looks good (my opinion) and works VERY will getting cool air to your turbo while extracting excess heat from your turbo and effectively directing air through your radiator-not around it. It's also rather unique as I haven't seen another Supra with this hood (in person), it's nice to NOT look like everyone else. At any price I think its a great hood, for under $900- it's a no brainer if you are looking for a vented hood!
