Thanks! for all your help. I did get the K&N for my Porsche and I love it. Installation was simple and the results are great. Throttle response is improved and an increase in HP is noticeable in the Mid to High RPM range. Sounds is also much nicer with no noticeable additional noise at idle and/or with soft acceleration. I did get a check engine light after a few seconds, but it cleared after +/- 15 min. of driving. Also, the only main difference between the 996 installation instructions included and my 997.1 install was a small self tapping screw that was needed to secure the heat shield L-Bracket (seen in Pic attached KN12_2010b).
