There are many ways to make power on the Porsche 996 Twin Turbo. Simple reflash and exhaust gets you almost 100 HP gain over stock. But what about when you want to take your car to the next level? However, that next level has a budget. We gladly introduce the Vivid Racing VR650 Turbo Kit for the Porsche 996 Twin Turbo vehicles. This kit takes your OEM K24 turbochargers and upgrades the exhaust side with an 18G wheel and 1.0bar wastegate actuators. These turbos retain the spool of the stock K24 but give you big mid-range and top-end power. Vivid Racing has proven these turbochargers on many customer vehicles worldwide. Our most accomplished 996TT running K24/18G turbos makes around 700HP modified to rear wheel drive. This vehicle completes the 1/4mile in 10.70 seconds with a 60-130mph time of 6.33. In a standing mile, this car did 196.7mph. Extremely reliable, safe, and driveable on a daily basis.
To upgrade your K24 turbos, you will need to remove them from your vehicle and ship them to our Turbo Builder which we will supply you with the address and instructions. Please contact us first before shipping any products. Once we receive the turbos, we will modify them to the K24/18G level and clean up your stock turbos to be like new. All upgraded turbos include new 1.0bar wastegate actuators. This process is about 7-10 days once they are received. You are responsible for shipping to and from. This VR650 K24/18G kit consists of:
- Upgrading your stock K24 Turbos with a 18G Turbine Wheel
- Removing the stock wastegates and installing 1.0bar actuators
To Maximize this kits power, we recommend the below options listed in order of importance from top to bottom. As an option, you can run either the 5bar FPR or run the stock 3.8bar with the upgraded 60lb injectors. We recommend for those wanting maximum power to do the injectors and intercooler pipe kit for optimal air flow. ECU tunes by Softronic or designed for either 91 or 93 octane. The addition of race gas or those internationally, the ECU will adjust to the change in octane accordingly.
