After much research, I decided to get a tune upgrade for my 996TTX50. I decided on Softronic based the ability to have both the original file (not something like my original file) and the tuned file on my own laptop. I prefer the ability to change tune files if needed. Although I could have purchased directly through Softronic, I decided to purchase it through Vivid based on their extensive real world experience with Porsche Turbos. The car is street driven only in CA were it's very hard to find pump gas above 91 octane. So reliablity and drivability were more important to me than the absolute power gains. After purchase the cable arrived in a week. I carefully followed the instructions to the letter but knew I could call Vivid if I encountered any problems. The upload went directly to Softronic and within 48 hours I had the tuned file and my stock file back. The upload took about 15 minutes. The power gains are what I had expected given the conservative nature of the tune I requested. Spool up and power in the mid range have the greatest improvement (perfect for the street). With the tune I can hold 1 bar. Prior to the tune the best I could hold was .9 bar. So far no CEL or other issues. You don't even know the tune is there until you need it. This is a very good product and Vivid has great customer support.
