The blow off valve allows excess pressure to be released between shifts. Without this the excess pressure would remain trapped inside greatly increasing the amount of wear and tear an engine goes through. Factory blow off valves aren’t built to handle boost pressures above the factory setting. Tuned engines running higher boost can leak boost from the blow off valve which causes your engine to run poorly and produce less power. Tomei valves are built to withstand high boost pressures and are capable of withstanding the demanding conditions aggressive driving produces.
