i think it was a show car and if not, it should have been....he said hes had it since it came out and never really drives it much, just builds it up for track nights. he seemed to know his shitt about our cars though and he slung a few compliments, but sort of snickered when i asked to race it....its always great to see older guys doing some street racing! he aslo easily went over 125 but i dont think 160.....he wasnt even on full throttle though during the straight, that was kind of upsetting, he should have atleast tought me a lesson! well he did, but on the bend, which is even a bigger slap in the face! whatev, cool guy though, just hope i never get lined up with a grand national at the strip!!!!!

[P]Haha. This is hilarious. You can tell who's just getting into cars and who's been around for a while. Do a search for Buick Grand National. You'll find a million results. It was one of THE enthusiast cars of the 80's and easily could take anything including stock Vettes, Camaros, 300 Z's, TA's, and even a slew of exotics such like the lower end Ferrari's. It was listed officially as the fastest U.S. production car in 1987. If you lined up against a Grand National you had balls. [P]
[P]Hey hey hey come on now, i have grown up loving cars since birth, give me a break i have seen thoses b4, i just never thought that a brick like that could move that fast?

Those G-Nat's are really fast, I've witnessed a few of them cruising past me. They used to use them in alot of Hollywood movie stunt scenes. [P]I don't know why carmakers such as Buick, don't make anything like this anymore? GM had the Cyclone & the Typhoon, those things were damn fast too. The Typhoon was running 14 flat for 1/4 mile stock. [P]A guy at my university had one of these grand nationals on 20" dayton's and it had huge side-swept exhaust pipes. He was a bit of thug so I didn't get a chance to talk to him about the car, but I saw it all the time and always drooled over it. I would feel like I was in a Hollywood chase scene whenever I was driving it, if I owned one!
