consider the Ultimate Racing stg 3 STI kit (same as UR stg 5 WRX kit with t3/t04e)... thats what I'd get if i had an sti... 350 awhp at 15psi safe boost and stock internals... mid 400s at higher boost and built... only $3500

Long weekend off. Manny- wish I could have made the race but had some stuff going on at home. I have numerous packages coming in from all over so once its all in I'll let you know. Yeah our times were pretty shitty but we were runnig in a hurricane unlike half of the field. Still, top ten. I know there were more drivers than that in our group. I'll keep ya'll updated. Memphis- I as well am good ona downpipe. ECUtek tuners in MD? not sure. I heard of some guy on NASIOC you might wanna ask there.

B- how did the tint ordeal go? Didn't get your message until late. I was working 4-12. Manny- As far as the 8th- I can't race, I have to work. But that just means that I'll be at the stadium all day in uniform watching the races. If you wanna go and race I will be there. You can jump in the cruiser for another ride along when your done if you want. Just let me know. If anybody else can make it, It is definately a good time.

Goose - Yeah I am not going to make it. I am going to be changing out my hook up HVAC lights to red to match the STI cluster he has in the late afternoon and finally picking up the caps I need to put on my rims... B- I will let you know how it turns out and if it looks good. Goose definitely take you up on the ride along when you get your lights in and stereo stuff. I am still in a never ending battle with getting the proper taillights for my car.
- Also any comments about vivid's admin post about behave or get booted? I am not too keen on the whole rules and freedom of speech infringement, but they pay the bills and I can always go elsewhere. - |

Stealth - Is Utec emissions detectable in MD? Was gonna go ecutek but have heard people saying there not sure if its detectable or not. Also gaithersburg isnt that far away from me to have my car tuned so it would work out better for me anyways.
I changed my mind totally on my new turbo, i think im gonna get the Garret GT-12 and tune it mild until i can build the bottom end. Any of you guys up for installing a turbo, injectors and and fuel pump when the time comes? |

I think that even though a stage 4 is quite sweet "thedaddyb" is right and saying that u might want to upgrade the supporting cast as well to gain the full effect of the new sick turbo. I would say you dont need a stage 4 and that you should get something that you would use all the time like the sound system. ALso, you can get more money for the system then a used turbo? not sure but look into resale value. and maybe try to get the rest of teh system through ebay to save $.

Emmissions. I don't know about the UTEC but I just passed emissions last month with my ECUtek re-flash with flying colors. I just slapped the factory downpipe back on, passed the test, then yanked those cats right back off. ECUtek will definately pass emissions. There was a guy at a meet at Wilkins Subaru that was running a Garrett set up on his Sti. He claimed 450 at the wheels. Not to positive but I beleive it was just the turbo, injectors, fuel pump, APS front mount and a re-flash. Was a nice set up. The turbo itself was HUGE! I definately know he had stock internals and tranny. Alot of power can be run on those stock Sti parts. Don't replace unless you have to. As far as re-sale value on stereo parts, I don't agree that they are more than a used turbo. As always something is only worth what someone will actually buy it off of you for. Getting someone to buy your shit is th eproblem. I know E-bay is nice, but everybody goes looking for a deal so don't expect to get what you want. I personally went the half performance half stereo route in modding. Now my stereo will be complete within the next month so I can then concentrate on upgrading from stage 3 to stage 4. Whatever floats your boat. I know some people that don't even turn their stereo on because the exhaust sounds to good!

Yea the GT-12 turbo is rated for somehwere between 450 and 500 whp so i can believe what he is saying. Im not gonna have my car tuned to make that much power though, its my daily driver.
Thats good to hear about Euctek passing emissions, thats my first choice. The only thing im worried about is people are sayingn something about the Ecutek on 05's delates some VIN number in the ecu and they can detect that during your emissions testing. Guess im gonna have to do some research. Where did you have your car tuned at Goose? |
