OK guys... on an impulse I went to the FIR for the SCO runs... they had a good crowd out at the local event. As I'm getting to the staging lanes I noticed a bright yellow Lotus Elise... that car was thye shit!!! it was so sweet!!!... after my run I went back and spoke to the guy he was real cool and we talked about his car and how he couldn't get traction at the launch I gave him my $.02 but what do I know... I just like to go down the track... after a few runs we got to race each other and this is how it went... We stage he is on the left lane and I'm on the right... 3rd yellow lights up and I nail the gas and... shit!!! I red light cut a .456 on a .500 tree... he gets a .877 light at the 60' I'm at 1.902 he runs a 2.388 that traction problem he was talking about showed it's ugly head... at the 330 I'm at 5.783 to his 6.143... at the 1/8 mile he runs 9.138 to my 9.025... but his MPH 83.36 to my 75.91 by the 1000 mark he is at 11.686 to my 11.785 and at the end on the 1/4 mile he runs a 13.864 @106.21 to my 14.120 @96.55... but win or lose it was a great race... The guy was real kool and the car was bad-ass... hope to see him run next time around...[p]In addition: my best that night was a ET: 14.053 @ 95.16 but the best MPH: 112.66!!! but I think the timer was messed up cuz I know I didn't run that fast... so the best was the 96.55 mph...[br] [p][Edit by wrx-spd on Friday, October 11, 2002 @ 12:00 PM]

Sorry but I must intervine in here. The Lotus elise is one of the biggest pieces of crap in the market. I have seen tons of them , I rided in one.[br]Do you guys know the engine size? it is a freaking 1.8 liter rated a 160hp, no turbo.[br]The engine was mounted on the rovers 244(small british car). The only good thing about the car is that it weights just over 700kilos x2.2= 1540pounds.[p]The interior of the car is the most simple interior that you have ever seen and the comfort does not exist.[br]That was just my word. By the way, the 1.8 liter 160hp engine tops speed at 130mph..

I just have to say that the Lotus Elise is my favorite car in the entire world. I don't care what anyone says. Lotus makes the best handling cars in the world. They don't need traction control, AWD, ABS brakes or any electronic intervention. I think the simpler a car is the better it is. It takes alot more skill to make a car that doesn't need electronic aids. The Elise Sport 190 can do 0-60 in 4.4sec and get 40mpg. I don't know many cars that can do that. I have never driven one, but if they finally come to America in 2005, my WRX will no longer be in my driveway.
