John's Super JDM GC8

Yesterday I put John's super sick GC8 on the dyno.

Now this thing is the sickest GC8 I have ever seen with my own 2 peepers. The picture I have of it does not do the car justice. There is so much wrench time on this thing it is stupid and he did all the work himself.

Some of the modifications( I dont know every single one but I know the main ones)

JDM Ver.8 FULL DRIVETRAIN! Not just a motor but the axles brakes motor, 6spd tranny everything.
Carbon Doors, Hood, Mirrors, Trunk
Full Cage
Recaro Seats
Zero Sports Intercooler Splitter
Sti Subframe
JIC Exhuast
Downpipe
UTEC

Really is a beautiful car and it will only get even better.

Thanks,
Mitch Mckee

Cool Thanks!

Just thought I'd pop my head in hear and say thanks for the positive responses, it was a lot of time and hard work to get it to where it is right now. as all projects go, it's never 'done', but it's still a great performing car on the track at it's current power level. I'm trying to focus on getting the Chassis dialed in and add some more safety equipment before I add more power. I'm planning on getting an HKS GT 2835 Twin-scroll turbo in the future, once I max out my current turbo (VF-37) and get consistent track times with it. I thought I'd share a 'Mod' list & post a couple new pictures now that I installed my CF 'Track' lip. I tried to make Every mod serves a purpose, or improves on what was already there.

It really shines out on the track, and there's something to be said about being able to drive to the track, race (and perform well), and then drive home, all on the same tank of gas. (it was VP 100, but it's still 'pump' gas. )

I'm signed up for DE-2 for the Night event @ FIR on the 24th, You gonna be there? Maybe we can pull a Chinese fire drill during a session so You can get a few hot laps in, I don't mind. I built it, I know it's put together well, Just don't crash it.

The 2 best/funniest things on that list is the EVO MR paint color and auto-to-manual window conversion. Awesome.

Well, The Night event was awesome, I got there at 10 am to watch the autocross and the drags were at noon, which was cool to watch. Met Tanner Foust and talked to Chris Rado, the later whom came to check out my ride (He liked it), he didn't even know subaru made a coupe. Saw the cobb R-35 run 11's on it's stock 20's! but the GST subi coupe ran 10's. Saw a lot of familiar faces. I didn't get out of there until after Midnight.

Then I went out to the Dezod Time Attack at Firebird West on Saturday, and got 2 trophies, one for first place AWD Wild class, and Best wipeout.

The Later was won by having a fuel surging issue around the last corner.
I had a small fuel leak near the gas tank after my second practice session, so with an hour before the Time Attack started, I call my Friend Keith over at azdynochip to see if I could get it on a lift to get a better view of what was going on. I was fortunate that it was a simple fuel line, So I ran over to Checkers and got a length of hose, Got back to the shop, fixed it, and back to the track in time to catch the time attack drivers meeting, but in the process burned up quite a bit of fuel I hadn't planned on, and didn't have time to top off the tank before the race.
Had a great run, until I had an issue with fuel sloshing away from the fuel pump during the last few turns. Coming out of the last turn, the engine sputtered on me mid-powerslide past the apex, so I had no choice but to hit the dirt. I slid sideways about 150 feet and took out a lap timer tripod and filled the car with 50 lbs of dirt and dust, but after a few turns of the key to prime the fuel lines again, I started it right back up and did one more lap. No damage to the car, and Nothing broken other than a tripod leg!

Since I was on of the last people running, Everyone was waiting for the results near the start/finish area, and subsequently they were all covered in dirt and dust, It looked like Ground Zero!
But it was a good time, great end to my spring track season.
Still a have a LOT of cleaning to do!

I'm thinking of getting a CF roof made over the summer, and possibly going full CF widebody & doing a 5X114 hub conversion, so I can get some wider wheels & stickier tires. I need some more grip, I was just about to destroy those street tires out there. My brakes just chew up the street tires.

Talking

The Night Event was one of the best events I've been to locally, that's for sure! It was fun running the track during different times of day, made the track different everytime. Definitely glad I installed HID's. My first time on the track was 3:30pm, and the last was after 10PM.

The Time Attack was really fun too, but racing back-to-back weekends was really hard on the tires.

Found some pictures from the time attack this past Saturday.

I'm still waiting for the video, but I found some pictures from the event, including my award-winning, powersliding off track endeavor.

/\ Tage's record setting FF civic

/\ Me waiting to got out on my timed laps

The award-winning money shot

/\ Me off track five feet past the start/finish line, The lap timer is under the car.

and what that earned me.

Looking forward to getting back on the Track after Labor day.
