I had a small fuel leak near the gas tank after my second practice session, so with an hour before the Time Attack started, I call my Friend Keith over at azdynochip to see if I could get it on a lift to get a better view of what was going on. I was fortunate that it was a simple fuel line, So I ran over to Checkers and got a length of hose, Got back to the shop, fixed it, and back to the track in time to catch the time attack drivers meeting, but in the process burned up quite a bit of fuel I hadn't planned on, and didn't have time to top off the tank before the race.
Had a great run, until I had an issue with fuel sloshing away from the fuel pump during the last few turns. Coming out of the last turn, the engine sputtered on me mid-powerslide past the apex, so I had no choice but to hit the dirt. I slid sideways about 150 feet and took out a lap timer tripod and filled the car with 50 lbs of dirt and dust, but after a few turns of the key to prime the fuel lines again, I started it right back up and did one more lap. No damage to the car, and Nothing broken other than a tripod leg!

Since I was on of the last people running, Everyone was waiting for the results near the start/finish area, and subsequently they were all covered in dirt and dust, It looked like Ground Zero!
But it was a good time, great end to my spring track season.
Still a have a LOT of cleaning to do!
I'm thinking of getting a CF roof made over the summer, and possibly going full CF widebody & doing a 5X114 hub conversion, so I can get some wider wheels & stickier tires. I need some more grip, I was just about to destroy those street tires out there. My brakes just chew up the street tires.

Luckily it's only dirt, I've already cleaned most of it off, just need to hit the engine bay and wheel wells with a hose and some simple green. I'm just procrastinating since it's +100*F outside and I really don't enjoy to driving it when it's this hot anyways.

I've been driving this badboy more lately.

Just got back into town last week from San Diego, Had a great time out there with the Family. Can't wait until Sept. to hit the track, so I signed up for the next NASA event next Sat., Aug 16th. Should be a good time, maybe use up my tires so I can test out some different ones.
Don't know if I can say anything yet but you should be able to get a story and some cool pictures about my car sometime soon.
Putting a list together of the Safety items I want to install over the next year, before I turn the power up. Should be able to get 330-350 WHP on race gas (with at least 300 on pump gas) out of the current turbo. Safety first, I want to always be there for my baby girl. Then I will get the HKS turbo and get some real power, shooting for 400-415 WHP, should make it a real monster on the track.

Another great track day.

Picked up an MRT Brake MC brace, and some cool Prova Clutch and brake caps, thought I'd add a little 'bling' to the engine bay; Still have to install them though. Also gonna test out some new tires at the Oct. track day, so Dunlop Z1 Star spec (225/40/18). after I get them broken in, I'm gonna see if they don't help with my traction problems at the drag strip, maybe I can get a respectable time slip now that it cooler.

There's a feature of the Subi in the Nov. Issue of Modified Mag, Make sure to pick up a copy!

She just had her first birthday!
When does he get back? If it's sometime in the next year, I can help with the build.

I'm actually contemplating selling it to so I can clear my debit and get married. It's gonna be a PITA to get it to pass the cali smog rules with the JDM drivetrain; don't know if it would be street legal there. If I do that, I'm gonna do another one; lighter, faster, and more powerful. Full CF widebody, CF roof, maybe go bigger with the motor and get a little more serious with the Aero package, with the ultimate goal of having a safe street/track car, with a power-to-weight ratio of around 6 lbs/HP, so maybe get the weight down to 2600 lbs (without driver), and get it up to 400-550 HP, maybe a built 2.5L (Unless I can get it done with less displacement, like a 2.2L or A 2.35L) with a 30R or 35R(possibly twin-scroll, I kinda like the sound) and supporting mods(Front mount, external oil cooler, fuel surge tank/swirlpot setup, EWG, etc). I was thinking of doing it with this chassis, but I already have a pretty balanced setup that I'm very happy with, Don't really have the heart to tear it down again. I'm thinking these new tires may be a really good thing, we'll see how they do on their virgin run this Saturday at PIR. I'm thinking I may have to use A US STI drivetrain to pass CARB in Cali to make it street legal.

I'm not gonna sell it anytime soon, but I will definitely let you know when I'm ready to sell it. I'm planning on using it until I can get my race license. Probably won't be until some time next year. I'd also like to see how it does on some of the tracks in So Cal, So I can better prepare the next one for racing out there. If I can get some sponsors going, maybe I can get it the SEMA show next year.
I just got 3rd place (2-door street) at HIN down at Firebird this past Sat., I think I did pretty good for just driving there and parking it. It was the first car show I've participated in, so I didn't really know what to do to prep for it. I had nothing as far as a 'display' goes, I didn't get down there early enough to clean it or unlock the doors. I didn't even get down there until after the judging was done! It still had track goobers and brake dust on it from the last track day!
