Mission 10 - OEM is Not Cuttin It

I know the Porsche Purist will rip my head off. The stakes, the pitchforks, the knives are flying. But yes, we switched our factory brakes. And no its not Brembo. Our past racing experience has been with a little company known as StopTech. Little is an understatement. StopTech has been on World Challenge cars for over 4 years winning events every race. Including the championship last year in 2004. StopTech has also recently one the 24 hour race on a Porsche cup car with off the shelf StopTech Brakes. So whats the answer… StopTech equals serious brake engineering to get your car to stop under any conditions.

We wanted to increase our braking performance while adding style and function to our Project 996. To do this we hooked up with StopTech and got a 4 wheel big brake kit. StopTech big brake kits include the calipers, rotors, steel braided lines, and pads. We choose the yellow calipers to stand out behind our black Iforged wheels. As well for racing purposes, we put slotted rotors on the car, since drilled tend to crack under heavy use. 332mm front and rear rotors with 4 piston calipers offer a much improved stopping power over the factory 4 piston front and 2 piston rear brakes.

The installation is a direct bolt on, however the correct offset of wheel is required to run larger brakes. For more pics on of this brake kit installation, CLICK HERE.
