Function 14 - Holy SH*T The Car is Fast!!!

I can honestly start by apologize for the gap in Project EVO. While I was on the Gumball 3000 90% of our parts from Japan arrived for the EVO. The Vivid Crew was instructed that the car must be done by the 24th so we could take it to the International Auto Salon representing BF Goodridge in their booth. So what is the end result? Alot of parts were put on the car, it is super fast, and I am scared to drive it!

We basically changed everything we could and added anything we wanted. We started off with some additional suspension components. We equipped the car with Front and Rear Cusco sway bars, a JIC lower arm brace, Rigid Front and Rear strut bars, and re-tuned our Tein Flex Coilovers. The car now handles like it is on rails! The larger rear sway bar on the rear and smaller on the front made that four wheel drive car get sideways easy.

Next we needed to get that exhaust flowing more. Most of the power is hidden in the restrictive piping of the downpipe and catpipe. We replaced the downpipe with a 3 inch mandrel bend Monster Sport downpipe and a RMR 3 inch cat delete pipe. With no cats, 3 inch all the back with our JIC exhaust, the sound is very throaty and the power is amazing. We also dressed up the engine a bit by adding a RMR carbon engine cover, Samco radiator hoses, and a Monster Sport carbon fiber radiator shroud to keep our cool air on the radiator.

Finally we forced more air threw the engine with a new intake system. Instead of a complete system we changed the stock filter to a more free flowing Monster Sport drop in filter. We changed the air box to a light weight and stylish Monster Sport carbon air box which we had to modify it slightly from how it fits on the EVO VII. We tried a HKS BOV kit from Ultimate Racing, and the EVO MAF sensors could not handle it. Stalling, poor throttle response, and other problems occured. Don't do a BOV until you have engine management. The car was enhanced severly and looks awesome. We will be taking it for dyno tests next week and have some results for everyone.
