Function 23 - CWEST Body Kit.

I think the sickest thing about the EVO is the styling and lines of the body. The EVO VIII front end never really appealled to me. One year ago we were in Japan looking at EVO VII cruising the streets and thought about importing one. Circumstances did not allow that and the next thing you know I had the hottest WRX in the country. Poor me, LOL! When my EVO VIII finally arrived it was time to think about a body kit. I have had numerous Japanese magazines even before the car was out in the USA and knew the CWEST EVO VII kit was for me. With a sick huge front bumper, clean side skirts, a rear bumper to give the EVO a new butt, and a carbon hood you would die for, it was now time for me to get this baby on PROJECT EVO.

After waiting 5 weeks for out shipment from Japan to come, I had all the pieces here in our shop. We immediately sent it out to paint and counted the days till it returned. The kit finally got back and we were ready to install the kit. Overall impression of CWEST. Well I have had it on the car before and hands down CWEST makes the best quality parts on the aerodynamic market. The strongest, most durable material, as well as they physically wind tunnel test and use their products in competition to prove their name. All hardware came with it and pretty much no modification is necessary.

The swap incurred some problems that were mostly tim consuming. Removing the front bumper was not difficult as we had done this before to change the IC piping. Once this was off, we attached the mess to the new bumper and put it in place, attched the clips, and bam done.

Side skirts were a bit tougher as removing the stock ones was tedious. Once they were removed using the included screws and double tape we had to attach each side slowly to make sure it fit flush with the car. All said and done, they were not that difficult.

The rear bumper is something I would like to call a WHORE. Just trying to figure out how that thing came off took about 1 hour. There are more hidden bolts, clips, and screws then anything. After it was finally off we had bee working for about 3 hours and tired. Tired equals impatient and flaring tempers! When fitting the rear bumper we had to fit the license plate bracket and light on. Also since it has no flex it in, aligning the sides took a couple tries. It finally went on there and we stepped back and looked at the project. The only word that comes to mind is FINALLY!
