Kansai Service of Japan has some very strong ties in the tuning community. As known as some of the best in the EVO market, HKS Kansai Service has this bitchin full carbon air box for the EVO. You might have seen Vivid Racing confused about many things. First we started out with a Monster Sport Flat Panel Filter and Monster Sport Carbon Box Cover. Then we went to the HKS Suction Kit, and now this. Why have we made this change. Well for track racing the suction kit was to touching on the throttle. The car would jerk and did not help out much. The gain was there, but for our purpose did not work well. The flat panel filter was simplistic and made a difference, but we wanted more air flow. So we turned to the RMR filter which I have been in other cars with it. Works Great. The Carbon box added the flavor and we were ready to install it.

The Kansai Carbon Box is actually a FULL box. It has a removable top and surrounds the filter from all sides to shield it away from the hot air of the engine. Yet the air is inducted like the stock with the scoop up front. The box was easy to fit into place. We had to remove the stock bracket and push back some lines and wiring to have it fit tight. Once that was done we slightly trimmed the inside hole where the MAF sensor goes through for a better fit and walla! It works amazing, blows the socks off everyone that sees it, and overall is a great package. Hats off to RMR and Kansai Service.
