Phase 5 - The Whale is Hunted Down
Phase 5 - The Whale is Hunted Down

Off the coast of Washington State, the Vivid crew were aboard the S.S. Tang Tester hunting large sea mammals. As the great whale tail popped from the sea, we fired one of our harmless harpoons and got that son of a bitch. Let me introduce you to the newest part on our Vivid Racing Project M3... Welcome CSL Trunk.

The European release of the all new CSL BMW M3 brought much needed styling and performance. But as usual, the USA was short changed. So Vivid Racing's Rob the parts hunter found this CSL trunk and ordered it in. Not only did he do that for our car here, but he can do it for you too! Once the trunk arrived and we lusted over it for several minutes, maybe seconds, it was sent to paint.

When we received it back from paint color matched to our Laguana Seca Blue M3, we begin the switch process. Would this be easy? Probably not it is a BMW. After removing the stock locking mechanism, trunk wiring, lights, and more, we pulled the entire trunk off and begin putting the stock pieces on to the new CSL trunk.

After all the wiring was connected, lights tested, lock checked, we tightened down all the mounting screws and gave her the first slam. Perfect. The trunk was on and the looks were improved. Still rare, but becoming well known, the Vivid Racing Project M3 is one step closer to owning the world.
