Advan Racing is one of the premiere wheel manufacturers that hail from Japan. They have simple styled wheels but their performance is nothing short of amazing. A testament to this simple styling is the Advan RG-D2.
Sure it looks like the RG-D from 2010, but this is much improved. The new aspect of this wheel is the step-rim profile. The RG-D2 features a slim 6-spoke design that is a fusion of the basic ADVAN Racing RG and deep rim designs. The superb spoke curves allow a deep rim design with ample caliper clearance. Overall, the form of the wheels exudes a dynamic presence. This lightweight, one-piece high-tensile flow formed sport wheel is created by combining forming process that adds stiffness and rigidity with the highest quality flow forming method using Advan’s leading-edge casting technology.
Unlike the RG-D’s two degrees of concavity, the RG-D2 has three concave profiles from normal, GTR, or Super GTR which is the most concave profile possible on cast wheels.
ADVAN Racing FLOW FORMING JAPAN MADE logos are printed on the step of the rims by a thermal-transfer method, so everyone will know which kind of amazing wheels you rock. The spokes are side cut on both sides, without joins, using the advanced side cut process. The 18-inch RG-D2 has the racing rim profile necessary to accommodate brake systems with rotor sizes of up to 400mm diameter.
The RG-D2’s six spokes exceeded previous strength standards – even exceeding those set by the original RG-D - giving the new wheels a platform from which to showcase their strong characteristics. The bold design of the new RG-D2 spokes and step-rim profile matches the deep wheel in a superb balance that puts together an amazingly breathtaking form.
