Finally, Advan Racing RSII wheels and machined side-cuts spokes. RSII creates a more assertive, elegant concave spoke shape while preserving the elegant, classic style of RS's full-face 10-spoke design.
A response to the widely successful RSII wheels is the Yokohama Wheel Advan Racing RSIII wheels. Using the new strength data results from years of racing, these wheels are made. The spokes are deeper than the earlier installments of RS wheels but thinner.
These wheels incorporate casting and flow-forming rim forming of excellent quality. These wheels have two parts. Standard model, with more concave spokes and GTR specification. The "ADVAN Racing" logo is cast 1 mm high between spokes on the rim section. A processing system engraves the letters on the layout after painting.
In 2001, the ADVAN Racing RS, its brand flagship product, was unveiled. After some improvements to the original concept, the RS model became the RSII in 2009. The rivalry at the WTCC demonstrated the design and performance of the RSII and put ADVAN Racing in the global spotlight. Then, in 2019, the RS wheels of the 3rd generation appeared. It retains the 10-spoke style, of course, but this radical change in concept offers a whole new look. The spokes on the current RSIII wheels have the largest vertical cross-section of the three RS versions, based on the latest technical evidence on toughness and the fact that quality is directly related to the spokes' vertical cross-section.
On the other hand, the spokes are narrower than those of the RSIII when viewed from the front, offering the wheels a cleaner appearance. And considering the narrow cross-section, both ends of the spokes are machined side-cut, which underscores Yokohama's sophisticated forged wheel manufacturing. This is distinctly noticeable on even the spokes' slimmest parts, called 'advanced side cut processing,' divergence from the RSII spokes that were not joined at the middle and did not have any side-cut functionality. Two concave spoke face models were supported by RSII wheels: STANDARD-Design and GTR-Design. RSIII wheels, on the other hand, due to the inclusion of the Super GTR-Design, give three sides. The most enticing wheel face can thus be chosen size by size.
All Advan rims are either built to fit seamlessly on a given vehicle's hub or come with a unique plastic hub ring to deliver a smooth hub-centered fit.
