New Intake Tube Allows for Better Flow and More Consistent Numbers Under Boost
With emissions regulations and economy restrictions, Audi is now using turbo chargers in most of its production vehicles. The 1.8T paved the way for performance and economy in small efficient package. Now with the 2.0T and newer 1.8T available, the TFSI has proven to be both reliable and economical for a ton of different models. There has been one draw back to the turbo motors, that has not been remedied by Audi quite yet. Under high boost or in applications that are tuned, the factory intake hoses cause a restriction. On occasion these can collapse which causes a huge restriction in air flow. To remedy this problem, 034 motorsports has released a silicone high flow tube which replaces the factory plastic/rubber piece. This will allow for more reliable boost numbers and consistent air flow delivery. This specific model is used for the Q5 equipped with the 2.0T Engine. This upgraded air intake hose is designed to replace the restrictive corrugated factory unit, and features a larger cross-sectional area with smooth internal walls for higher flow and increased performance.
This durable, high quality silicone hose was modeled directly off of the factory part to ensure perfect fit and finish, and extensively tested at 034Motorsport with the help of independent Audi enthusiasts. In addition to cloth reinforcement, this hose features stainless steel wire reinforcement to prevent collapse under vacuum.
