Vivid Racing Employee @VividracingJames has one hell of an BMW F10 M5. His super sedan boasts a 4.4l V8 with two turbo chargers and a lightening fast dual clutch transmission. The car in stock form is a beast, but the soundtrack of the factory F10 M5 leaves much to be desired. For an M performance vehicle, the exhaust note is not overly aggressive, or expressive of what this car is capable of. An Aftermarket exhaust was one of the first upgrade James made to his personal M5.

From a sound/noise stand point alone the Armytrix exhaust system gives you an noticable audible upgrade, which includes the snarls and pops everyone loves. With the optional down pipes installed, you will hear both of the turbo chargers spooling like a jet engine. There are also the performance advantages of installing a more free flowing exhaust system. The new Armytrix downpipes eliminate restrictions right after the factory turbo which allows for a faster spool time and cooler exhaust gas temps. From those 3″ downpipes comes the Cat back Valvetronic exhaust, which includes all mandrel bends and high flow mufflers to allow the car to breathe better. At the back end of the Armytrix exhaust system there is the choice of tip color. Standard Chrome tips are included, but there are optional color choices which include matte black and blued titanium. This way you can perfectly match the style and design of your personal vehicle.

With this exhaust system you have the choice of automatic valve operation which is dependent on Engine RPM’s, or you can choose to keep them open/closed. This is all controlled through their phone application and OBD2 Dongle or alternatively by the remote system included with the exhaust package. The plush insulated interior cabin of the M5 still makes it bearable to drive even with the valves open, but from the outside it is an animal. You can still have your fun in cruising through tunnels and accelerating under over passes but if you want to keep it civil in your neighborhood or around town there is always the option to keep it quiet.

To utilize the full performance gains of this exhaust system, James went with an ESS Flash tune for his ECU. This enables better fuel mapping, throttle response, increased boost and timing and increased horsepower and torque. With gains shown of 600+ Hp and 600+ TQ this tune will wake up the vehicle and make all around better drive-ability.
