Neuspeed and K&N Power Mods for the A3

Slowly but surely our Project A3 is getting some new mods strapped on. Already equipped with some IForged wheels and ECU Flash, we have added some air flow improvers. First we took our Agency Power catback exhaust system from the VW GTI MKV and installed that on there. Since the tips were short for the A3 bumper, we added some of our titanium tips to extend it flush with the bumper. The exhaust is all stainless. Because of its dual muffler setup, the exhaust is very quiet and has no inside resonance.

Next we added a K&N Typhoon Intake kit. The cold air intake kit features a K&N cone filter with a stylish matte black finish pipe. The intake replaces the factory unit complete and has a built in heat shield which still pulls in air from the front grill insert like the OEM piece. Since the intake requires the removal of the factory engine cover, we replaced that with the Neuspeed carbon fiber piece.

Inconjunction with the Neuspeed carbon trim, we also added Neuspeed’s power pulley, discharge pipe, and intercooler pipe. The pulley is underdriven and is designed to add better throttle response and some horsepower. The intercooler pipes are a larger diameter to allow for more air flow to maximize the efficiency of the smaller intercooler and turbo. Overall driveability becomes much better as the car reponds quicker.

Lastly we added the Neuspeed rear adjustable sway bar. As a FWD car with an LSD, the car still has that torque steer. To help bring the rear end around, we wanted to beef up the over steer. To compliment the suspension, we will be installing the JIC Cross coilovers soon.
