The release of the A90 Toyota Supra was a pleasant surprise for JDM enthusiasts as the Supra had been out of commission for some time. As soon as owners got their hands on the A90 the modification process began. Trying to achieve the fastest A90 title, owners began throwing larger turbo’s on the B58 engine and increasing the boost.
Although the A90 features plenty of BMW engineering, upon improving the performance, weak points became present. After a few passes at the track owners noticed a significant spike in intake air temperatures (IAT) which induces heat-soak. With hotter IAT’s the engine performs subpar even in its stock form. Increasing the power speeds up the heat-soak rate.
To combat these weak points, CSF Radiators developed a high-performance heat exchanger. Eliminating heat-soak issues and significantly reducing IAT’s are achieved due to the increase in surface area and core design. The BMW water/air cooling system incorporated into the intake manifold of the B58 provides immense potential after installing the CSF heat exchanger.
Precision welds and high-quality core design give the heat exchanger incredible gains in performance and efficiency. Increasing flow to the cooling system is accomplished due to the 2-row 42mm ultra-high-performance core. The 6.5mm tall multi-louvered fins provide an exponential reduction in IAT and improved flow throughout the core.
