As you may have seen on our social media accounts, Vivid Racing took part in the Megarun Road Rally in May 2019. In the past, we’ve used our 991 GT3RS as our rally car, but for Megarun we decided to use our Macan GTS. To prepare for the event, we gave the Macan a Martini livery wrap thanks to the guys at Five18 Designs.
We chose the iconic Martini livery to make our Macan stand out and look like a proper road rally car. We also equipped it with a Thule roof rack equipped with four Hella rally lights which were powered by a remote battery in one of the antique ammo cans. The roof rack is highly functional, but for our purposes wanted to unique look.
We knew the event would likely have a lot of fast cars and the stock output of 340HP just wasn’t going to cut it. If we wanted to keep up with the pack, we needed a major power boost, which came in the form of our VR Tuned ECU Flash and an Armytrix exhaust system. With the tune and exhaust installed, our Macan was pushing over 400HP and had enough power to keep up with the pack.
Lowering the factory air ride suspension with some lowering links, our Macan GTS sat nicely on a set of Rotiform LSR 3-piece 21 inch wheels. Combined with the Martini livery, our Macan looked completely different from any other Macan on the road!
What makes this edit amazing is the Shotover Camera footage from the guys at Tempt Media who have been involved in many YouTube greats from BJ Baldwin’s Recoil video to Lake Havasu boat race, Desert Storm.
