The supercharged 6.2L engine under the hood of Hellcat power Challengers and Chargers is quite a beast. Some might argue that a supercharged 6.2L should make more than 707 horsepower, but you need to remember that simple modifications show the true potential of an engine. Dodge can just make the Hellcat engine as powerful as possible. They have to design it for long-term reliability, emissions, and drivability.
A supercharger works by forcing air into the engine, so giving the supercharger more air results in great horsepower gains. Injen, a globally recognized aftermarket company best know for their intake systems, has finished up the development of their Evolution intake for the Challenger/Charger Hellcat. Unlike many aftermarket intakes, this one actually includes a properly designed box so the engine doesn’t suck in the hot air inside the engine bay. Instead, it pulls cool and clean air from outside the vehicle.
- Designed to work with stock engine calibration
- More induction noise
- Well designed and durable box
- Dyno proven to gain 21 horsepower and 21 ft-lbs
As tested by Injen, this intake gains up to 21 horsepower and 21 ft-lbs. That 21 horsepower isn’t 100% guaranteed due to different ambient temperatures, elevation, heat soak, and other factors, but this intake will definitely increase horsepower in every situation. As you can see from the dyno graph below peak horsepower is pretty much unchanged, but there are noticeable gains in the midrange.
