Although Volkswagen makes fantastic turbo engines, they aren’t perfect. It’s well known that the downpipe on the 2.0L TFSI engine is pretty restrictive. On the other side of the turbocharger is another restrictive part, the turbo inlet pipe. This little part has the simple job of routing air from the intake tube to the turbocharger, but the OEM one has a poor and small design, holding the engine back. Luckily, there are companies like Forge Motorsports who have developed a less restrictive turbocharger inlet.
This new piece from Forge Motorsport has a full aluminum construction for superior strength compared to the stock unit. The all aluminum construction fits with standard inlet hose or aftermarket systems, making installation even easier. Forge Motorsport uses a twin o-ring seal design between the turbo coupler and the inner surface of the turbo inlet to ensure no debris can be drawn into the turbo internals. Forge Motorsport hasn’t published any official numbers, but we would guess this turbo inlet will add around 5whp or more to your Audi/VW.
- Increased airflow
- All aluminum construction
- Black powder coat finish
- Compatible with the stock intake system
- Faster spooling turbo and more power
