In the world of luxury off-roaders, two names always come up before any others: Range Rover and G-Class. The G-Class started all the way in 1979, and although it has evolved a huge amount since its Army days, it still has the same G-Wagen shape we all know so well. This year (2018), the G-Class went under its biggest redesign ever. Compared to the last generation, the new G-Class has grown in width by 121 millimeters, and 53 millimeters in length, and now has 6 millimeters more ground clearance. The biggest change is the loss of a solid front-axle, with independent suspension in its place. All of this is making the new G-Class incredibly popular, and companies like Brabus have already set their sights on it.
With the last generation G-Class, if you wanted to stand out, a Brabus body kit was the answer. They’re already begun releasing aero packages for the new W463A G-Class, such as the Widestar Conversion Kit. The kit itself is just the front bumper with daytime running lights, rear bumper with underride protection, and fender flares with integrated vents and end cap LEDs. Available separately are different style Brabus hoods and the front window trim which allows for mounting of two small LED light bars.
Of course, looks are subjective, but most will agree this Brabus kit transforms the look of the W463A G-Glass and gives it a much tougher look. It’s elegant, classy, but still looks like its ready to hit the trails if you want. Once you have that awesome Brabus package installed, it might be time for wheels, power, and larger brakes, all of which we have!
