Earlier this month, we gave you an up-close look at our new 2021 Nardo Grey Audi RS6 Avant. The first video included Vivid Racing getting delivery of the vehicle and giving viewers a taste of what’s to come. Well, the time has come to show you exactly what we did, thus far, to this German beauty. After all, our goal was to make this the “Ultimate Street Wagon” and we are not stopping yet! We treated the RS6 to an Akrapovic full titanium exhaust system, a VR Tuned ECU flash, and a set of VR Forged D12-R wheels. The result? We turned the 2021 Audi RS6 Avant into a monstrous 700+ horsepower street wagon! But let’s talk about how we got there and what these products did for the high-powered luxury station wagon.

The Audi RS6 Avant is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, which generates 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque straight from the factory! While these power figures are certainly impressive, Vivid Racing took it upon ourselves to turn things up a notch and see just how much more power we could squeeze out of that engine. We opted for the world-renowned Akrapovic full titanium exhaust to also give the powerful Bi-Turbo V8 the best sound possible.

We then installed a set of custom VR Forged D12-R monoblock wheels to go along with its elegant look, giving the RS6 Avant the perfect stance while maintaining that aggressive wagon aesthetic. Afterward, we hooked up the car to the dyno, where we installed our VR Tuned ECU Flash and picked up an incredible amount of power. Finally, we took the “finished product” out and put the pedal to the metal – where it proves itself to be the ultimate street wagon, indeed.

Akrapovic exhausts are widely recognized for supplying a soundtrack that has been acoustically tuned to perfection at every rev point for a particular vehicle. This system is manufactured using high-grade lightweight materials and features a specially designed layout with one central and two side mufflers, and a collector made from titanium – all leading from stainless steel link pipes with a larger diameter. A valve on each side muffler controls the flow of gases and aids the remarkable sound produced by the system. You’ll enjoy a tantalizing exhaust tone both when the valves are open and when they are closed, with the latter being just slightly milder for a more comfortable drive. The Akrapovic full titanium exhaust system ends with gorgeous carbon tips that add styling points to the rear of the RS6 Avant.

We also treated the Audi wagon to the VR Tuned ECU Flash to take it from 571 horsepower at the crank to even more! That’s because we want to push out as much new power from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as possible, especially after the Akrapovic exhaust mod. The Audi RS6 C8 4.0 TFSI ECU flash from VR Tuned will not only deliver gains in horsepower and torque, but also vastly improve overall driving characteristics by offering improved throttle response and better drivability. With this tune, the RS6 went from 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque stock to a whopping 710 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque.

Apart from merely upping the power on this wagon, we put the 2021 Audi RS6 Avant on a set of VR Forged D12-R wheels to complete the look. The lustrous gloss black finish perfectly contrasts the sleek Nardo Grey exterior paint color and makes the bright red calipers stand out even more. The D12-R is a full one-piece forged monoblock wheel manufactured using a 10,000-ton press. The result is an incredibly lightweight and strong wheel that checks all of the boxes and is well-suited to performance luxury/sports cars. The design of this wheel is a play on the original VR Forged D12 wheel with the Euro-inspired ring around the outer edge. The look of this wheel is very nostalgic to the early 2000’s Audi touring cars and looks right at home on our project Audi RS6 Avant.
