AutoTecknic’s latest release for the 2018-2022 BMW F90 M5 is its Dry Carbon Fiber Center Front Lip Spoiler. Both highly visible and highly functional, this lip is a lightweight and ultra-durable piece that will add great looks and enhanced aerodynamics to your M5. Made from dry carbon, rather than wet carbon, this front lip is the highest quality version you can get. Dry carbon fiber is formed using an impregnated piece of carbon that is first put into a mold and then in a sealed vacuum to cure at the appropriate rate. This process results in the least amount of waste and forms a lighter material than using the “wet method”. In addition, the autoclave manufacturing process for dry carbon delivers fewer pinholes and nearly no air pockets whatsoever.
AutoTecknic’s autoclave pre-preg carbon fiber structure gives its parts superior stiffness, as well as aerospace strength and durability compared to traditional hand-laid carbon fiber composites. And, as with every AutoTecknic product, this lip spoiler has undergone rigorous quality control measures before being released to the market.
