Capristo has expanded their products to include a protective heat shield kit for the exhaust headers and catalysts they sell. This product is made from a very high-heat resistant material, also used by NASA (oooooo). This product helps to reduce radiant heat from the exhaust headers and sports catalysts. It is heat resistant for temperatures of up to 1300 degrees celcius. Reducing heat temperatures in the engine compartment will improve performance. On cars such as the Ferrari and Lamborghini that have the air intakes in or near the exhaust system, cooler air temps will results in better performance for the engine. As well, these can reduce the possibility of fire which sometimes arises from leaking liquids contacting the exhaust systems. Ever seen a burnt down Ferrari 360? Its sad!
A complete kit will consist of left and right header covers, as well as either left and right sports cats covers, or left and right test pipe covers.
