The automotive aftermarket has gone through many different phases over the years, and the latest phase has been widebody kits. Initially, they become trendy on JDM cars, but as time has gone on, widebody kits have become increasingly popular on American cars. Clinched might not be as big of a name as Liberty Walk or Rocket Bunny, but their widebody kits are pushing into the USDM market. Their Mustang kit is already pretty popular, and now they’ve set their sights on the Challenger.
The kit won’t officially be available until July 15th, but Clinched is allowing pre-orders and plans to have the first orders shipping by the end of August 2018. The kit widens the front by 3.5” per side and the rear by 4.7” per side. Not only will this give your Challenger an awesome show car look, but it can also be used functionally, as it will allow you to run much wider wheels than the stock body would except. Of course, professional installation is highly recommended, as you’ll need to cut into the body of the vehicle to properly install the flares.
