Clutch Masters has just released their new FX850 twin place clutch for the Hyundai Genesis 2.0L Turbo. You might say why do I need a twin place clutch on a 2.0L? Well these rear wheel drive coupes are making some serious boosted horsepower and need to deliver that to the wheels. The twin plate clutch features two 8.5 inch discs with integrated flywheel. The surface area of the twin place is more than other systems. This gives better wear and contact to hold the power or torque that these modified cars are producing. The CM twin place can be spec’d for street driving utilitzing their Figer Tough material on one disc with steel backing on the other. Clutch Masters is proud to introduce our new FX850-series performance clutch pack and flywheel for the 2.0L Turbo 6-Speed Hyundai Genesis Coupe models. The new FX850-series kits feature our New Quick Release Pressure Plate, Performance disc, Adjustable Hydraulic Bearing, Single-mass Steel Flywheel and alignment tool.

FX850 Series:
The FX850 series is a larger diameter assembly, which is designed for high horsepower applications. The 850 Series has a higher holding capacity, less clutch chatter, and a smoother engagement compared to the 725 Series. The 850 series Twin disc will accept one sprung disc creating a slightly smoother engagement compared to two rigid discs
- Components can be purchased separately for economical repair.
- Positive release for ease of high RPM staging and shifting.
- Most have experienced better 4/10’s times and averaged hundreds of passes without complications or repair
Available Stages:
“Street and Race” (TD8S) – 1 sprung ceramic disc, and 1 fiber tuff rigid disc
“Race” (TD8R) – 1 sprung ceramic disc, and 1 ceramic rigid disc.
Adjustable Hydraulic Release Bearing:
The Clutch Masters adjustable hydraulic release bearing is a major upgrade when replacing or upgrading you OEM clutch unit for the 2.0T. The Adjustable bearing eliminates the OEM plastic unit which is prone to fail and leak.
Single-mass Steel Flywheel:
The Clutch Masters light weight steel flywheel weighs 20lbs (Complete Clutch pack and flywheel weighs 36lbs) which is significantly lighter compared to the OEM dual mass flywheel which weighs nearly 30lbs. Clutch Masters has engineered this flywheel to be driver friendly with minimal gear rattle which is increased when too light of a flywheel is utilized. The light weight flywheel offers a much quicker throttle response without compromising any bottom end torque which can be reduced when using too light of a flywheel. Clutch Masters Flywheels are SFI Certified meeting performance and safety standards for the automotive and motorsport industry.
