The RAM 1500 is a favorite among truck aficionados and for good reason. Apart from earning its share of awards over its span of five generations, the RAM 1500 boasts one of the most enjoyable rides in its segment. With a comfortable and spacious cabin, serious off-road capability, modern tech, and a satisfying powerhouse under the hood, the RAM 1500 shows up every day ready to take on whatever comes its way. Another great benefit to owning a RAM 1500 is the slew of upgrades and mods offered on the aftermarket for it. Our customer Charles Johnson, the owner of a 2016 RAM 1500 Sport, was looking for a way to increase his truck’s light output while also enhancing its front-end look. AlphaRex specializes in designing and manufacturing performance lighting solutions that are unrivaled on the aftermarket. Its PRO-Series lineup of lights is a more affordable option for enhancing your truck’s visibility at night and in harsh weather. When AlphaRex designed these PRO-Series lights, they used the headlight design of the fifth-generation RAM trucks and applied them to the fourth-generation RAM models. These projector headlights have top and bottom DRL light tubes in white LEDs and the bottom comes with amber sequential turn signals. Additionally, the middle features a dual projector design. The inner projector is for the high beam, and the outer one is for the low beam. These PRO-Series projector headlights use H7 halogen bulbs for both the low and high beams; the output is 4300K stock white. Unlike brighter HID and LED bulbs on the aftermarket that may not be street-legal, this headlight setup is fully SAE and DOT compliant – meeting all requirements of brightness, height, and intensity.

The RAM truck PRO-Series lights come with black, jet black, or chrome housings. For his 2016 RAM 1500 Sport, Charles chose the more intense jet black option. The jet black housing is AlphaRex’s specially designed housing that has the glossy look mixed with the black paint to give a sportier aesthetic that looks luxurious at the same time. It also gives the headlights a more refined interior and allows you to better see more details and the depth of the headlights. The AlphaRex PRO-Series Projector Headlights are made with polycarbonate plastic lenses. A layer of an anti-fog agent is applied to the headlight lenses to allow better light output in extreme weather conditions. AlphaRex also applies another coating to protect the lens against unwanted, and unsightly, yellowing and oxidation that other brands tend to experience over the years.

It’s not hard to see that Charles made a great choice for his ’16 RAM Sport. These AlphaRex headlights certainly give the front end a more aggressive appeal, especially with the factory black paint. In addition to this fresh headlight upgrade, this customer did a 2/4 drop on his truck with 24-inch Trackhawk reps. All in all, this is one mean RAM machine and we look forward to seeing what is next in store for Charles’ ride.
