Customer Spotlight: Turbocharged Jeep JK

To say the 3.8L JK Wrangler is underpowered would be an understatement, but for many Jeep owners increasing power is not a major consideration when shopping for modifications. The JK Wrangler was never designed to be any sort of performance car, and many owners just embrace the underpowered nature of it. For some JK Wrangler owners, however, the weak power output is not acceptable.

Some people might be happy with a simple intake, exhaust, and tune, but for those who want to transform their JK Wrangler, a massive increase in power is necessary. The other alternative is swapping in a different engine, such as GM LS or HEMI V8. Engine swaps can be pretty costly with the price of the engine and all the parts needed to make it work in a JK Wrangler, plus any custom work during the process.

Although the 3.8L doesn’t have a lot of potential as a naturally aspirated engine, it responds very well to forced induction. Our customer, @turboedjeepjk, wanted to make big power with their JK and purchased the Prodigy Performance Stage 3 turbo kit!

This turbo kit includes everything you need to make 350whp or more with your 3.8L JK Wrangler. Unfortunately, this kit doesn’t work with automatic transmission equipped JK Wranglers. Everything you need for installation is included, from piping, hardware, intercooler, turbo, sensors, gaskets, tuning, and more.

The turbocharger used in Stage 3 Prodigy Performance comes from Precision Turbo. The turbocharger is designed to spool up quickly and make lots of mid-range power. The mid-range power is very important for towing or off-roading. With this installed your 3.8L JK will output more power than supercharged 3.6L Pentastar!
