After the car was aligned, we took our Project STI to the dyno for some HP tuning using ECUTEK. The car being equipped with SMC Water Injection, an Agency Power GT35R Turbo Kit, and Cosworth upgraded motor parts should make for a strong power plant. Using 91 octane, we safely tuned the car for lap after lap street use. We could have easily gotten another 40-50 horsepower but wanted to keep it reliable. Running only about 24lbs of boost, we achieved 396 wheel horsepower (500 crank).
After the tuning, we headed to Bondurant Raceway for driving instructor Mike Speck to do a short test on the small circuit. The car had some rubbing issues with the low offset wheels, but that will be fixed with a roll of the fender. The cars huge power and late spool made the short track alittle challenging. Overall the car’s first shake down went well. Back to the shop for some corrections and we will be back out there for another successful run!
