The F4x M135i / M235i, F39 X2 35i Eventuri system was developed through extensive real-world testing and airflow simulation analysis. It features the brand’s patented Venturi carbon fiber housing system with an integrated Mass Air Flow sensor section for the smoothest airflow to the turbo inlet tube. The housings also encase Eventuri’s bespoke second-generation dry filter, which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Eventuri opted to not just implement another aftermarket cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the BMW’s turbo.
The patented housing system seals to the front duct, which has been maximized in volume to reduce any potential airflow restrictions. Eventuri has redesigned the crucial duct to maximize internal air volume and ensure that only ambient air is provided to the filter. What’s more, with the mounting points now hidden, the duct makes more intelligent use of the space over the slam panel.
In order to protect against engine bay heat and avoid power-robbing, the duct features a flexible rubber edging around the filter housing and offers a tight seal to the filter while allowing for more sufficient movement during hard acceleration. This Carbon Intake System for BMW also delivers better throttle response and allows for the turbo to work with a lower waste-gate duty cycle.
