Exhaust Overview: Milltek MK3 Focus RS

For years enthusiasts in the US longed to own a Focus RS, but Ford refused to bring it to US soil. We were always jealous of European enthusiasts who had access to the MK2 Focus RS. With the MK3 Focus RS, however, Ford did bring it to the US, and it’s arguably the best Focus RS ever. It’s fun, fast, all-wheel-drive, sophisticated, and sounds fantastic. Although Ford did a decent job with the factory exhaust system on the RS, they had to comply with US and European laws, making the RS quieter than many would have hoped. Luckily, this can easily be fixed with the help of an aftermarket exhaust.

For the MK3 RS, there are a lot of good choices for exhaust systems, but one company has remained the go-to for many Focus RS owners. Milltek differentiates themselves from the sea of other exhaust manufacturers by handbuilding all their exhaust systems entirely in Britain. Every exhaust they built is produced with aerospace-grade 304 stainless steel which is resistant to discoloration and lasts a very long time. Mandrel bending throughout improves flow by ensuring constant piping diameter. For the Focus RS, this means as much power as possible with an incredible sound.

Like any proper exhaust system, Milltek’s MK3 Focus RS exhaust is available with a few options. First up is the resonator. This exhaust is available with or without the front resonator. With the resonator in place, this exhaust is louder than the stock exhaust, but not too loud. With the resonator removed, however, this exhaust is loud and sounds amazing. For the tips, you have the option of Polished, Titanium, Burnt Titanium, or Black tips.

If you have any questions about the Milltek exhaust for MK3 Focus RS, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can be reached by phone at 1.480.966.3040 or via email at sales@vividracing.com.
