If you want to watch a Project Car evolve, then this is one to follow. From the purchase of the vehicle, to the performance modifications, interior upgrades, and now exterior paint, this car is coming along as planned! The selling point for this project was to really change the exterior presence and to help do this, we took the concept drawing of the Wald GT-R and photoshopped it accordingly. Our GT-R has just come back from paint and we now have some sneak shots of it in its new Flat Red attire. To go with the theme, we painted the roof, hood, and bumper accents flat black as well. More pictures will be available soon as we start reassembling the interior and exterior and the car goes off to the Stereo shop. Next up for the mods… We will be adding the Agency Power intakes and intercooler pipes along with full carbon fiber engine trim and dash trim. A Rockford Fosgate stereo will be installed too.
Stay tuned to www.vividracing.com/forums/project-gt-r for more info.
Here are some shots of the car with the wheel test fitted.
We also finished fabbing up our intercooler pipe and intake pipes and got the CNC machined mounts cut.
I really don’t like the wheels. I think you should have gone with something less blingy or something in a flat black.
Still NAF of the wheels too. They stock ones are pretty sweet in comparison. But oh well, maybe some 20" TE37s or something will find their way on there eventually. 😀
+1 MAYBE if the wheels were ALL BLACK! and they need a spacer to fit the fenders better…. or we can just save our selves the headache and put some VOLKS on that beast. [lol]
+108405875 on the wheels.
Needs less offset and more lip.
+1 on the wheels with more lip and more offset
just wait till they are all on there before we judge 🙂
Just got the rear bumper, wing, and some other parts back. You can see how clean the flat red and flat black look 🙂
dude just take me for a ride when its all back together
Who did the paint on this? Very few places do a flat paint job so id love to take my car there, im tired of looking at my faded paint lol.
I want a ride in this beast!
Project GT-R is wrapping up here with the enormous painting and installation process. We got the bumper, hood, and rear valance back from the paint shop finally. We are doing the install as we speak. The front bumper we need to paint the side vents black and installs black mesh behind the openings. We decided that instead of fog lights we will be putting functional brake ducting for those holes in either side of the bumper that were morphed in place.
We created some wing risers to give the rear wing a more aggressive look and I think we are going to go with them. Wheels are also at powdercoat being refinished with a flat black inside and flat red outter lip.
While the car was in the air, we slapped on some of the COBB sway bars to help stiffen the chassis and balance out the over and understeer.
Keep checking out all the pics at our gallery here – https://www.vividracing.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=362
looks sick
is it wrong to jack off to a car cuz i just did
Looks SICK.
And good call on redoing the wheels in black… There would have been waaaay too much red happening on that thing otherwise.
Got the side grills on and painted flat black. Bumper vents painted black too. Just got the wheels back. Outside hoops are flat red and centers are being powdercoated flat black. Will have them reinstalled tomorrow!
Alright we got the wheels back and had a chance to snap a picture of them on the GT-R. They look SO MUCH BETTER. Flat black inside with flat red lip. We also got the front bumper installed with our fog lights. We retro fitted some fogs in the holes and then wired the them to an OEM switch next to the steering wheel on the left. More pics on those soon. You can see from the picture with the wheels that we decided to install the wing risers. Something different and we dig it. Monday we will put all 4 wheels on and install the side skirts. With that being said, 99% of the car will be done. We will be able to take final exterior photos after we add some Vivid Racing stickers. Our only other mod is to add the high flow cat downpipes, Agency Power blow off valves, and then redyno on 95octane to reach our final number of about 550awhp.
Keep up to date at http://www.vividracing.com/forums/project-gt-r
The front bumper came out good. I want to drive this one too. 🙂
Wait… I thought you guys were making brake ducts for those holes instead of the fogs? No?
Well we are 99% complete with the GT-R today. We got the wheels back and they look awesome! We got the side skirts and are going to make 1 small change by painting the center all flat black. The wing risers really add flow to the car. We are putting the rear wheel spacers, smoked markers on today as well. Next up is a detail with some new stickers, high flow cat downpipes, and then we are done! Stay tuned to http://www.vividracing.com/forums/project-gt-r for more pics and video.
WOW, nice stuff. Will you be taking it to any shows in the Phoenix area or do I need to come to VR to see it??
Can somebody please tell me what in the holy hell this car is doing on its way to Romania????
Have any of you guys even SEEN the roads in that country? That front bumper is going to be torn off after like 3 blocks of driving in Bucharest.

Wow, I have been thinking about a flat paintjob for my new project and this just sold me! Looks sick, now you have the answer the question of who painted it, or just tell me what type/brand of paint was used!!!!!!!
If you could message me with some pointers about how you made your website look this good , I’d be appreciative.
