For those that enjoy off-roading can know how risky it is crossing a lake or flooded roads without sucking water into your intake. If you pull enough water into the engine it can hydro-lock, which can bend connecting rods and seize the engine completely. To combat this many owners resort to a snorkel air intake system that seals the filter box and extends the intake ducting through the hood and along the a-pillar.

Positioning the inlet tube high up and sealing the filter box allows you to submerge the vehicle without sucking water through the intake. Although it is not ideal to fully submerge any vehicle, it is better to not be limited in where you can travel. Flowmaster developed a snorkel intake system for the Wrangler JL/JLU and Gladiator JT platform to provide a quality cold air intake and give you the freedom of adventure no matter where you go.

The Flowmaster cold air intake snorkel system is constructed of Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) for durability. Utilizing this XLPE material keeps the intake air temperatures lower while also increasing overall strength. Flowmaster also provides high quality reinforced silicone couplers to ensure a watertight seal.

A high flowing 8-layer cotton gauze media air filter is paired with this intake to allow maximum filtration of any dirt and dust particles that might get sucked in through the snorkel. The cold air intake also uses factory mounting locations to reduce modification. Along with this kit is a template to cut out a portion of the hood where the snorkel exits the engine bay as well as inner and outer trim pieces to give a clean look.
