Although Honda did a great job with the new FC1 and FC3 Civic SI, it’s not perfect. From the factory, the suspension is tuned decently, but it lacks adjustability, and it sits rather high. Of course, this can always be fixed with some aftermarket suspension. Up until this point HKS hasn’t offered and suspension for the FC1/FC3 chassis, but now they are bringing the Hipermax IV GT coilovers to this chassis!
Like most aftermarket coilover suspension, these coilovers are adjustable which allows you to fine-tune how your Civic handles. This adjustability is excellent if you’re noticing some strange handlings characteristics and want to dial them out. The single tube inverted type was utilized for the front side to maintain sufficient stroke to provide better drivability. With high spring rates and improved dampening, body movement is decreased, ultimately making your Civic handle much better than stock. Of course, being an HKS part, these coilovers are very high quality and backed up with a one-year warranty. On top of that, it’s available with an Error Canceller which gets rid of any lights that may pop up on your dash due to the suspension being different.
