It’s no secret the FK8 Civic Type R is one of the most polarizing Honda performance cars of all time. Although it’s the fastest front-wheel-drive car ever, the lack of a high-revving naturally aspirated power plant upset many Honda enthusiasts. Regardless of how you feel about the FK8 Civic Type R, there is no denying its outright performance potential.
With over 300+ horsepower in stock form, the FK8 is definitely the most power Civic Type R ever, however, there is still room for improvement. Thanks to the turbocharged nature of the K20C1 engine, increasing the power output of the FK8 Civic Type R is as easy as turning up the boost. Our tuning division, VR Tuned, has developed an ECU flash which not only got big power from the FK8 but also kept it safe.
As tested on our in-house dyno, our VR Tuned ECU flash increases power from 306hp to 360hp. For those who want a more aggressive tune file, our Stage 2 flash increases power to 374hp. On top of the massive peak horsepower gains, our VR Tuned ECU flash also adds a significant amount of low-end and midrange torque.
